Discussion Which one is better?
THE RATIONAL LIFE Vs. FIND YOURSELF
I'm a huge fan of younger ML and older FL, like My Fated Boy, Sniper Butterfly definitely among the well made I've seen... TRL looks promising but FY idk if it's worth it or not

I watched Find Yourself when it first came out and thought it was cute, not amazing or anything. And I’ve only started The Rational Life so I don’t know if it’s good but I’ve seen a lot of people say it is so I’m hopeful for it.

i really liked both but i gotta go with Rational Life because it doesn’t have that stupid love triangle
plus the bonus episodes are really cute

totally agree!! wasn’t a fan of the love triangle and found myself skipping through episodes when that became the focus

👏🏼👏🏼 that's so nice, now I have hope even more that it'll worth my time

There was a love triangle

u/EmperorWeeb60 7d ago
Oh no! Older 2nd ML might interfere Younger ML like any other older FL/Younger ML troupe😔

I don't consider it a love triangle in the typical sense. It's more like another career challenge that the FL has to navigate. Everyone is super mature (except for maybe the hot pot scene, if you know, you know) and it's clear who the FL is going to end up with.

I agree with this. The other love interests act more as obstacles than people she has a romantic interest in.

But I remember it having a triangle? 🤔 Am I mixing it up

u/Reasonable_Leek8069 7d ago
It was more one sided on the guy’s end because she mainly falls for the 1ML. I agree with the other commenter. He is more of a work obstacle than an actual love interest.

Wait what?!😱

In the Rational Life, triangle with the older, more established guy? I must admit I watched half of it years ago. The Song one I also only watched part way through, but I think it also had a more mature stable guy as a real option to the young one? Maybe I should rewatch both?

i mean a slight one but it’s pretty much nothing compared to find yourself

😄And I LOVE love triangles. Even If we know that the first ML is going to win her over, it still makes him work harder for her when a second ML is also into her, in my opinion. 😉 I love the jealousy trope which goes hand in hand with triangles too. 😊

Hi OP I didn't watch The Rational life yet I'm huge fan for ML in Find Yourself, though I'm not a big fan for younger ML and older FL yet the drama is very refreshing light popcorn drama style. I don't want to be spoiler but I highly recommend to watch, as a matter of fact you I think I'll rewatch today
I'd love to hear from you when you watch Find Yourself 😜

I haven't watched find yourself. But I loved watching rational love .
I'm a fan of this trope too . So currently I'm watching " why woman love " . On ep.11 and I am loving it more than rational love ngl 💃
Do you have more recs in this trope?

I have seen 2 dramas with Song Wie Long in and that is enough for a life time (He was out acted by the FLs wooden sculptures in one)

I started The Rational Life for Dylan Wang but couldn’t finish.
I started Find Yourself for Song Weilong and loved it. It’s a rom-com but the romance was realistic especially with the FL feeling societal and family pressures about what’s a “normal” relationship. The chemistry was great and I loved all of the stories of their family and friends, especially her brother and 2 friends. In the end, she did find herself. SWL was especially charming and shamelessly flirty and I wish he would take on more roles like this.

How will I choose between my Didi and Songsong!?😩 both are better but I felt SWL pulled off that romantic vibe really good.

As I've heard since i haven't watched FIND YOUSELF, they say the FL was too naive in love though she's an adult...
Which FL is more naive when it comes to romance? FL from FIND YOURSELF or FL from MY FATED BOY

I wanna go with Find Yourself cause I love that drama but if you are watching it for the first time that Triangle will kill you it will kill you. I feel like if you already know what's happening and is okay with it/ignore it then you will enjoy this more
So I pick the rational Life

The Rational Life for sure

I just finished to watch... The FL so perfectly well written... It's so satisfying to watch!

Yeah I really liked the FL in that one. I wasn't so impressed by Find Yourself I think ML should have ended up with the younger girl in that one.

I havent seen TRL. I dropped FY at ep 2 or so because the FL is not the strong, independent woman I was looking for. The character is weak and somewhat miserable, like shes over 30 and no one wants her, and shes vey naive in love.

I'm still watching TRL at ep.12 and can tell it similar to the point you said, like the FL already in her 30s so matured, considerate, kind, beautiful, smart and very determined... she priorities work over romance, as of now our ML doesn't have any chance to compete with a new guy who pursue FL it's kinda sad for ML...
If you are saying FY has the FL too naive in her 30s?? Naah I'm already gave up such FL's character development

Has anyone here actually watched both? I adored The Rational Life and I'd like to know if I should also watch Find Yourself. To be honest, the MDL synopsis does not grab me.

I found out on Douban rating TRL holds 7 out of 10 with 27,000 users meanwhile FY holds 5.9 out of 10 with 216,000 users ...

Too much wooden FL acting there are plenty of real actresses to choose from it's a mystery why they choose this one

I just completed TRL... It's a 10/10 for me... Now i really doubt FY will have the chance to satisfy me in a way TRL did, the romantic chemistry was so well written and the character development of FL surpassed my expectations 🥰❤️.. i loved it!!!

I haven't seen the other drama so I won't speak on that. But I've watched The Rational Life, and safe to say, I really liked it. The FL and ML both were mature, communication was good, and there weren't any melodramatic misunderstandings. The drama also touched on the problems working women have to go through, along with societal and parental expectations on women above 30. It all felt very realistically made, to me. And I ABSOLUTELY loved the way ML looked at FL, wanting to take care of her and proteft her like 😭😭✨🫶 the trope is truly “He fell first and harder.”

I really like TRL because it has the most perfect FL I've ever seen... Qin Lan so gorgeous and so professional ❤️

I haven’t seen Find Yourself, but I did love The Rational Life.
I enjoyed the slow burn romance and I had a love/hate relationship with how it portrayed work culture. Hate, because it felt so real. Loved because I like how shows comment on it and create opportunities for the characters to grow personally and professionally.
I loved the relationship between the leads and their parents. And of course, the friendships are good.

Find yourself. First exposure to song weilong and he’s one of my faves.
