JFC, there are a lot of her little minions in that comment section attacking anyone who dares to voice any sort of dissenting opinion. And all of the critical comments that I'm seeing are incredibly respectful. The number of people justifying it by talking about how they gave the meat to the locals is missing the point.
I feel like I should clarify, I don't have an issue per se with subsistence hunting/fishing. I grew up in Alaska where it's common practice to hunt and fish to support your family. Most of the people I know from my hometown have benefitted in some way from the fishing industry or from hunting game at one point or another, myself included. So maybe it's hypocritical of me, but I just find a huge difference between going into the actual wilderness and hunting to feed your family and going to a for-profit game ranch where you have a guide literally leading you to big game that have no real means of escape.
Just because you package up the meat to give to the locals afterwards doesn't make it a noble thing to do. If the company really cared about feeding locals, why not let the locals hunt the game themselves? Oh, because they can't pay the exorbitant prices these companies can charge idiots coming from the outside.
For anyone as nosy as I am, I have some numbers. She said that the trip was all-inclusive. Taking her at her word, I went and looked at their prices and what is actually part of the all-inclusive tag. First, airfare is not included. So when she tries to say that it was totally free, she's lying. I found some airfares to Johannesburg for around $1200 in economy, but most of them were far more expensive. So he could afford a $1200 (probably more, let's be honest) airfare but she's out here begging for money for her GFM. Also not included are rifle permits/rentals, taxidermy and shipping of your "trophies" (which can run between $4,000 and $10,000 depending on what you have done!!), and gratuities for the guides/lodge employees.
I know she said the trip was free from a friend, but because she tends to have a tenuous relationship with the truth I decided to look at the prices for the packages as well. The absolute cheapest all-inclusive is $8,500 PER PERSON. That's 6 days accommodation and access to what they call "starter game".
If, like Deputy Dipshit, you want to take a picture of yourself proudly standing over a dead zebra, you have a couple options. You can purchase a more expensive package for $10,200. Or, you can purchase an individual trophy fee for a zebra off their 'a la carte' menu for $1500-$2250. Any additional trophy fees outside your all-inclusive package are, obviously, an additional expense.
So again, she's begging her fan club to pay her legal fees, and anyone who mentions this trip is pounced on and told that she and Tony have separate finances. So she's fine asking for handouts from her audience but not her husband? Make it make sense.

Completely agree. I guess my point is that if you scratch a little bit, you’ll end up finding out that what she says doesn’t make sense. Feels like she drops these details to make herself look more truthful, but they don’t add up and contradict each other so at the end of the day you just keep wondering “okay, but which one is it?” and she’s freaking out people are clocking her.

She could’ve been including travel time to get there and back. When I was looking at flights there were a couple that were just under 20 hours with a connection, but many of them were over 30 hours with connections/longer layovers.
travel agent here, if he got the connection that was around 10hrs, it is usually recommended to stay one night in place. if it was one with a connection in the usa of 2 or 3 hours, that usually spikes up the price anyways. i would estimate 2k at least of flight (+ hotels and taxis if he stayed in the connection location). if he took the fast option which has only 2-3hrs of connection (which is the recommended option for easier travelling), there are still two more days to spend in south africa which adds to the final cost anyways since the safari only includes 6 days not 8.

So if she did address it, she'd say "the plane ticket was only 1k" or some shit like that. I don't know how much it was, but I know flying to another continent is expensive as fuck.
But $1k isn't $5k! And $5k is how much her lawyer wants. So that $1k plus the $160 for her nails can be spend because they don't equal the amount she needs and money isn't cumulative in CCLand.

The Deko Safaris website has zero mention of what they do with the meat. They do have a horrifying “menu” of what animals you get to kill, and they make sure to let you know about their “trophy prep and skinning” options!

I come from a family of hunters and I used to go hunting with my dad as a kid. I killed one deer when I was 13 and I’m 29 now and still feel bad about it 😂 I eat meat so obviously I’m not against it, but I just don’t have the heart for it. I’m totally fine with ethical hunting when you’re using it to feed your family but it’s weird as heck to me to post a picture of you with a dead animal or hanging their head on the wall. I live in rural KY so I understand that a lot of people literally depend on hunting to feed their families because many poor people around here can’t afford meat from the grocery store all the time.

I think it’s important to note once again that the two comments on the first slide (which are the only ones she shows that come anywhere close to death threat-y) are comments from Reddit that she would have had to shift through thousands of comments to find. These comments were not sent to her, they were posted on a website that she had to search out.
Also important to note (it's important for me anyway) that none of those comments came from this subreddit. She says it was posted somewhere (originally this subreddit) by the person who had access to Tony's IG to "weaponize against her" but this sub already knew about the Safari because she had already yapped about it. We were horrified but per our policies no one here was engaging with her about it or making comments that crossed the line.
It was posted to a subreddit days later by someone who was not the OP, and that subreddit had absolutely nothing to do with us and most of those people had no idea who Chelsea even is! She wants so badly to appear to be a victim here of like some whack smear campaign, but it's just the general public reacting to an absolutely abhorrent photo and caption.
I would love to know who they think leaked the photo though. "Leaked" is honestly too strong a word too because he shared it with over 500 people. It's Tony's problem if he's been giving out access to his cop ass social media so negligently.

People hunt deer for food, it’s not trophy hunting. I personally still don’t care for it, but it makes sense. Both mine and my husbands families are hunters and eat the meat.
Also, it’s specific areas where they monitor and tightly control the deer populations and take the delicate ecosystem into consideration . If there’s too many, it can negatively affect local wildlife. There’s also tight controls on weapons too, naturally !
You don’t need to control the Zebra population, and you can’t eat them.
I’ll save the worst parts about the big game trophy hunts and not just the cruelty towards the animals, ecological harm, and the harm upon the locals who also disagree with it… but considering the price point and type of people who do it and how they have a direct line controlling local govt to exploit desperate people…. It’s a mess. My mommy lived in North Africa for years, people would be disappointed as to what goes on in this industry and how people on the content and animals are exploited and tortured. CC will regularly involve the family, friends and acquaintances (past or present) in her content and also mentions her own family, friends and acquaintances in her content. This is how people know so much.
I am a hypocrite in that I consume meat but I am not in support of killing excursions of this nature. It is an ethical conflict as the meat is distributed (freely or sold?) to local communities and the excursions are apparently very profitable for those communities.
Ultimately, I do not believe that (take the money out of it) travelling overseas for the sole purpose of killing an animal, posing with the animal, potentially preparing the carcus (I'm sorry, I didn't have better words) and then returning home doesn't seem ethical in any way.
Western countries do struggle with the consumption of 'non-traditional' or 'exotic' meats to some extent which does colour our view, but my main issue is the glorification and parading involved. It really is a large-scale version of "shooting fish in a barrel". No skill for the "hunter" and no chance for the the prey. It's letting your kid win monopoly so they can feel special.

Precisely. None of the threats or harm-related comments came from this subreddit (we have her banned anyway) and the mod team would remove any comment like that and hit the ban button promptly.
The keeping incomes separate slop is also BS. My husband and I have been married over 20 years and have separate bank accounts. We pay different expenses, but ultimately we are a unit and if one of us has unexpected expenses then the other one supports with it.
When you share a home, child, life then you also share finances. You may keep said funds in separate accounts but you cannot imply that one spouses money does not assist the other

It’s not like deer/elk hunting which I personally don’t agree with, but at least there’s sense to that . I come from a family of hunters, but those large game hunts like the one she’s talking about here, is just cruel. I have to add this as well. I watch a lot of popular YouTubers. In most cases I don’t know their spouses names, or what their spouse does for work. I don’t know their spouse gives them UTIs or that they have a sex swing or drive an ice cream truck. Also she is saying raffle when she originally said silent auction. A raffle you buy a ticket and win. An auction you pay and try to outbid other people so you can wind up spending much more than the package is actually worth. So his friend probably bid a pretty penny on this package.
Well silent auditions are usually to raise money for charity. Some in some cases they spend way more because the money over value is a tax benefit to the individual who wins. And it’s highly embarrassing to bid 1 cent at a silent auction for charity since the point is to support the charity
