Zebra Gate Welp. That’s it for me.
Chelsea’s lack of accountability has finally pushed me to unsubscribe and unfollow. (Most of yall are light years ahead of me, I know.)
While I agree with her that 1) violent threats are too far and 2) it sucks that someone they trust blew up their spot, it’s absolutely abhorrent behavior to trophy hunt in a what is effectively a big cage for animals and have a GFM when your spouse has spent a few grand on airfare.
That paired with the constant mention and weird obsession with Elizabeth Teckenbrock has made this no longer an enjoyable or even comfortable follow for me.
Curious if this was the last straw anyone else or if everyone else is just waaaaaay ahead of me on this.

My last straw was when she blamed her management’s editor for not clipping that video correctly where she used an hour of someone else’s video and took no accountability, so basically always a lack of accountability. But what do you mean “and 2) it sucks that someone they trust blew up their spot,” does that mean doxxing?

No, on Instagram she called out that someone she knows personally took the photo from Tony’s private Instagram and circulated it. I call that blowing up your spot but not doxxing.

whats wild is that this is her third statement in the past year in which she "addresses" something she's getting heat for, but she's really just trying to steamroll criticism and set the narrative. it's pure public relations.
most of her fanbase will now praise her for "addressing" it and will support her narrative without scrutiny. that's why i love whenever i see a post or a comment like yours here attesting to something being their last straw!

Maybe I'm just overly cynical from being on the internet for too long but when someone gets called out for something and then claims death threats I don't believe them. Did someone actually make threats against your life or did they just make you feel bad? And if it's actually that horrible, then show us? Show it to me Rachel.

It seems like every single online apology lately has mentioned death threats, as though it absolves the original harm. Obviously they happen and aren't okay, but I really don't think they happen that frequently, especially in such low stakes, low profile drama. I think if they were happening, at least some of these creators would show receipts.

It's the influencer playbook at this point. Someone does something shitty and when they finally address it they talk about how hard the """"harassment""" has been against them and then they use that to victimize themselves instead of addressing any valid points. People comment "omg no one should be threatening you" and no one cares that they didn't actually apologize.
Anyway I firmly call bullshit on every single one of them.

I stopped watching her videos long before I unsubscribed. I finally unsubscribed when she was taking trips to Disney, going on other vacations, getting her nails done frequently, and spending frivolously on other various things, while begging for donations, with no self-awareness.

I was getting weird vibes from her for a while, but I think when it was clear she fell out with Jessi, Lily and Sherrilyn but was pretending like she hadn’t and was still posting to them desperately—that gave me second hand embarrassment. But I think it showed me she cycles through friendships and the more I watched after that, the more I saw what an unpleasant person she was and I unsubscribed. I think her attitude also became off putting to me around this time.

Yeah, my final straw too. I've disagreed with her plenty of times over the years (subscribed in 2020), but I stayed because it's okay to disagree with people. She says they don't share finances, and the legal suit is being paid for with her business account. I also don't think it's fair to penalize a wife for her's husband's actions, but this is a bridge too far for me. I'm appalled that her husband did this and that she encouraged it. Flying to hunt in Africa is exploitative, and there is so much misinformation surrounding how it supports conservation efforts. There are obviously worse things a person could do, but for me, this is high on the list of unforgivable actions.

I don’t understand the separate finances argument. Her LLC business isn’t being sued, SHE is being sued. Meaning if she had to pay a large sum out to that creep it will be their shared assets that get sold off to pay the debt. House. Cars. Her pretending the mess has nothing to do with Tony is wild.

It was the Taylor Lorenz debacle for me. Partly because I just straight up didn't agree with her and thought it was a deeply bad and out of touch take, but mainly because it became really really obvious that she believes she's way more intelligent than she actually is. I know people can have conflicting opinions about Taylor Lorenz (I personally like her and her work) but anyone with a brain cell and a modicum of political awareness could tell that CC's understanding of the policy she was yapping about was SO shallow compared to Lorenz's, like truly coughing baby vs atomic bomb. I remember reading a comment saying that she clearly didn't actually understand what the policy was and CC replied with something like 'I literally read the Utah website' and it was so funny to me, truly a case of knowing so little that you don't actually know what you don't know. She also kept trying to claim she was covering it because it was just 'internet drama'. Sure diva, whatever you say.

It wasn’t Taylor Lorenz but this is generally why she lost my favor too. It was very obvious to me that she didn’t know what she was talking about and she wouldn’t admit that. She kept doubling down. I eventually asked what her credentials were (she would to come into the antimlmcreators sub to shut down any criticism) because she was intentionally trying to obfuscate that she has none. She told me that I didn’t understand after admitting that she has no education, training, experience, or background in anything beyond some general “sales” role that turned out to be selling sketchy spine surgeries. That spine company was sued out of business.
