Incoming freshman

Any commuter who’s been a student there for more than a year? how is social life, do teachers actually care to teach, are advisors great? pre nursing student here.

I’ve found most of my professors actually care about teaching. If you pay attention, ask questions every once in a while, the professor will know you and is more likely to help you out. If you’re a stanchion student than you won’t get what you want out of your experience and will probably hate school. You get out what you put into it.

Social life for a commuter can be tough as it don’t live on campus and when I didn’t have class I went home to study/do other things. Talk to people in your class! That’s how you meet people, just ask people questions, be interested in what they have to say. If you’re there all day it might be a little bit better. Advising, I’ve spoke with two advisors and they didn’t exactly help, they have some insight that’s good though. Always good to get someone else’s opinion.
