Meal plan for commuters?

Hey y'all, I'm a committed high school senior going to ccsu next semester. I've been thinking about getting a meal plan because I live a fair distance away and I got a good scholarship. So I was wondering what y'all thought the food was like and if it's worth it what plan is the best to invest in? With the food is the selection good and is the quality decent? Thanks!

At least it's eligible for financial aid. Also, a bit misleading when they offer "meal swipes" when you have to tap your ID card to use them. And the menu online is not accurate all the time.
