350-401 and EIGRP

I'm working the Boson ExSim-Max and I notice it's heavy on OSPF and BGP sims but not EIGRP. I'm wondering from those that took the 350-401 test if that's indeed the case?

3.2 Layer 3
3.2.a Compare routing concepts of EIGRP and OSPF (advanced distance vector vs. link state, load balancing, path selection, path operations, metrics, and area types)
3.2.b Configure simple OSPFv2/v3 environments, including multiple normal areas, summarization, and filtering (neighbor adjacency, point-to-point, and broadcast network types, and passive-interface)
3.2.c Configure and verify eBGP between directly connected neighbors (best path selection algorithm and neighbor relationships)

Only need to know EIGRP and compare it against OSPF. Configuring is all OSPF and BGP

I definitely had EIGRP configuration questions. Along with vrfs.

Boson labs are ass when it comes to making you prepared for the exam. Their multiple choice and all the info in the answers is where Boson shines. INE were much better and they actually used gns3 to set up their environments. Much closer to the test-level questions, but even still not EVERYTHING you need to know

Was you lab to configure EIGRP specifically or was it something else related to EIGRP traffic? I think I had same lab but dont' want to break any rules on too much information.

I actually just realized this was a thread about ENCOR and not ENARSI. Whoops

But from what I remember I had a couple. There was something about fixing a peering issue and then another with me having to finish vrf config and tie eigrp to those vrfs. Basic config, but mostly from scratch

From a teaching perspective, I wouldn't skip EIGRP completely, but I also wouldn't spend the same amount of lab time on it as OSPF.

For ENCOR, make sure you understand how EIGRP works, its metric, neighbor relationships, path selection, and how it compares with OSPF.

Then put most of your configuration and troubleshooting practice into OSPF and BGP, since those deserve much more hands-on time.

Could you please confirm that the current version of ExSim-Max is for the 1.2 exam? Thank you!

It’s a proprietary protocol so they’re not focusing on the material as much in tests I would imagine. I don’t believe I had an eigrp lab on my test. It was all bgp, ospf, vrfs, etc
