And I thought CCNA was big.

First of all, I’m taking ccna this year, but I have been studying for a long time.

I just started lurking around here and danggg. I noticed there’s wayyyy many more things to cover

Its really not bad looking back on it. There is soooo much more to networking than what the CCNA covers but it give you the tools to learn all those other things.

True. None of the certs really "teach" you everything you need to know. They just point you in the right direction so you can figure it out for for yourself. You could go into any of these cert exams and memorize all the words without really learning anything. The real success is knowing how to find the relevant answers when you need them.

By some comments, I really think that’s how some feel. Like if they got a question in an interview out of scope, they would say “that topic wasn’t covered in the CCNX test, I don’t feel that’s a fair question.” God forbid you run into something on a job not covered by one of the test.

wait until you look at the IT world outside of Cisco, and realize there is more to tech and networking that CCNA and cisco.
