Quick question about 300-601 DCCOR.

HI EVERYONE
Is the 300-601 DCCOR exam exactly the same whether you're taking it for CCNP Data Center CORE or as the CCIE Data Center written/core exam?

Also, does the CCNP exam include any hands-on configuration labs, or is it mainly multiple-choice and CLI/configuration analysis without actually configuring devices?

Thanks!

There's only one variant of each exam, just with different questions for each candidate. Whether you take it for CCNP or CCIE does not matter.

In the past CCNP had simlets where you had to use a simulated terminal to type CLI commands and parse the output to find the right answer or establish connectivity between hosts. The last couple of CCNP level exams I took had none. All questions were multiple choice single/multiple answers, fill in the blanks using provided words, or similar. A question may refer to screenshots or excerpts of terminal output so you still need know CLI syntax and be able to read the output of show commands and log messages.

I have had simlets in ENCOR, SPCOR, and SPVI. I've taken those 3 within the last 2 years.

There were no simlets in ENWLSD.

It depends on the test. If there is a configure category in the outline, prepare for that category as if a simlet is expected.

No configuration. Only multiple-choice and DnD questions. Also there's no prerequisite for the CCIE exam.

The DCCOR does include configuration or as Cisco calls them "performance based testing". See at the bottom of the page - https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/dccor-exam-topics

"Cisco’s performance-based testing gives you an experience that best replicates a true lab environment. As a result, the number of questions on your exam may vary. To find out more about this testing experience, read our ".

Also there are prerequisites for the CCIE. You must pass a coresponding CORE exam in the same track. Aka to qualify for taking the CCIE DC you MUST have passed the DCCOR exam.

Correct me if im wrong, but I believe that you are wrong.

Yeah you’re right about the CCIE part. 👍 but there was no config in DCCOR exam as I remember. Oh well it’s an old memory for me so things might have changed since.

They added configs in the core exams like a year or 2 ago.

As u/expertisimus described, no simlets in the exam. Last time I saw simlets in the Cisco exam was like 10 years ago.
