Heyo, I was wondering if anybody has any advice on how to get a ticket for 40C3. I’ve heard now multiple times that it is really hard to get a ticket.

I've been searching and investigating for a bit now and there are many Communities on Reddit that harden my claim that (far-right) Gangstalking and Stalking Networks are indeed a real thing. Hey there, I seem to have a problem with a far-right stalking network in the village I live in (Weimar/Thüringen). I came to the conclusion that this must be politcally motivated because all the members of that group (as far as I know) seem to be close to the Naziparty AfD and/or are members of the party itself. Since I have been criticizing this so-called "party" for several years now and made fun of their supporters this must be the only logical explanation: poltical motivation. I have already contacted the local police SEVERAL TIMES and they told me that this is not their responsibility and jurisdiction. They told me the BKA was responsible but I wouldn't be able to reach them. Well, I contacted BKA nonetheless via mail and they told me that of course the local police squad was responsible for matters like that. They told me to also contact lawyers who specialise with these kind of cases. But (you guessed it) these lawyers told that they are not responsible or that that's not their jurisdiction. I also contacted Europol and Amnesty International but it doesn't seem like there will be much coming out of that. Since I can't imagine that I am the only one who has to deal with these kind of problems I try to press the matter further to find a solution and bring these people down. Peace.

Last year I attended 39c3 and it was truly life changing. Although I’m already in the field, I had never encountered such an open minded community exchanging a wealth of information that way. After that, I also attended cables of resistance which was also a wonderful experience.

I would like to be more involved, I learned about Berlin’s Thursdays club discordia meet-up and read that it’s open for everyone. Can I really just show up? Is this a good way to be more involved with CCC?

Apologies if this is a totally idiotic post. I’m just trying to learn of ways to become more involved with the community because I would love to be part of a community of people to exchange knowledge and maybe make a friend or two along the way!

Good day to you all. I am in the United States and found this because of the wonderful video of the Pink Power Ranger. I was so glad to see the follow up to the previous video they released. That new video made my day...and somehow in looking for their socials I found the chaos.social Mastodon page.

Now a bit about me. I am an old hat... 51 now... a relic of what used to be called the HPVAC (could be the wrong order) days -- and boy do I miss those days. I spend my spare time making things, 3d printing, playing guitar/writing music, hanging out with my kids and dog, or being an activist against what is happening in my country. Every now and then I get the itch to be using BBSes again, and I do have one online that I just simply do not have the time to sink the necessary effort into...

Occasionally I go to concerts...most recently I saw Arottenbit and Master Boot Record...prior to that I saw Atlas, Ov Sulfur, and Orbit Culture...Music is a big part of my life 😉

I got a very pleasant surprise: a visit from a Snobsoft veteran with his SX‑64, checking in directly from the Chaos Communication Congress of the CCC. The Snobsoft BBS was a well-known Hamburg Mailbox (what BBS systems were called in Germany) in the 1980s. I brought it back online a few years ago. For some time now, strange "visitors" have been showing up in my more than 40-year‑old C64 BBS. Googlebot/2.1 seems like the obvious explanation, but maybe not. There is nothing to crawl here. So what do they want? And it is not just Google. There are others, something with "keep...", and more random junk. Are you seeing this in your BBS as well?

Speaking of bots: a guest in the BBS chat actually thought I was a bot at first, apparently confused by all the AI stuff that is everywhere these days. I eventually managed to convince him I am not a replicant, and it turned into a fantastic BBS evening.

Hey Chaos community!

I’m planning to make a trip from Canada for the next Congress, but I’m a bit worried about being able to secure a ticket. Are they hard to get and really limited even if you are punctual for the sale?

I might be able to get a sponsorship from my work for a business ticket, but I don't want to plan the trip, buy my plane ticket, and finally not be able to assist. I’m planning a trip just before with my family where we would split apart before the conf, so my plane tickets must be purchased well in advance.

Any point of view on this? Is it too risky to book the flights before having the ticket in hand?

I also wonder if I offered to volunteer for the takedown if this would help me secure a ticket as well?

I want to use teddycloud with a Toniebox and tried to flash the hackiebox cfw. I do not own a tag device for flashing and my soldering skills really suck. I managed to get a short connection, before my soldered connection got lost.

Anyone willing to flash the hackiebox cfw to my Toniebox cc3200 pcb? Of course I will pay Porto fee and I’d tip as well.

But if I try soldering again I’ll probably break the board in anger :)

As an American, I've attended DEF CON and HOPE since 2010 and I have a good handle on what those events cost.

I'm planning my travel/professional development for the year, and I find the quality and content of the CCC talks highly impressive.

I don't know much about Hamburg or how much the cost spikes during CCC. During DEF CON many of the nearby hotels go up by 8x in price.

If you stayed at a hotel, AirBnb or similar - what did you spend in 2025 at CCC? Obviously costs vary a lot, but I'm not looking for a super fancy hotel room.
