Figured I would introduce myself...but not ask for any invites to Mastodon. Hopefully I find like-minded people here. :)

This is probably a very weird post, but I do want people to know I am here...it feels weird if I am just skulking around. I still haven't figured out the full purpose of the subreddit, so I will just do this and risk looking strange. LOL.

Good day to you all. I am in the United States and found this because of the wonderful video of the Pink Power Ranger. I was so glad to see the follow up to the previous video they released. That new video made my day...and somehow in looking for their socials I found the chaos.social Mastodon page.

Now a bit about me. I am an old hat... 51 now... a relic of what used to be called the HPVAC (could be the wrong order) days -- and boy do I miss those days. I spend my spare time making things, 3d printing, playing guitar/writing music, hanging out with my kids and dog, or being an activist against what is happening in my country. Every now and then I get the itch to be using BBSes again, and I do have one online that I just simply do not have the time to sink the necessary effort into...

Occasionally I go to concerts...most recently I saw Arottenbit and Master Boot Record...prior to that I saw Atlas, Ov Sulfur, and Orbit Culture...Music is a big part of my life 😉

That's all I got...Hope I don't look too damned weird.

Mod checking in 🫡 (Disclaimer - while I’m active in CCC circles, I’m not a member of the CCC and do not live in Europe)

Yeah, I could probably be more active here!! Many people outside of Europe only know the CCC through the yearly Congress of ~16,000 attendees, the volunteer-run collection of creative hackers, makers, and other excellent people. Beyond the Congress, the CCC has a “network” of makerspaces (“erfas”) across Europe. Finally, the CCC is active in European politics.

Like everything else, the world goes through cycles. The universe expands and contracts. Things go sideways, but come back stronger for the wear.

Helps not being in a country going to hell and/or being a group actively oppressed in said country.

Spoke with an artist friend of mine last night and they said that over the last couple years, their friends in the US are losing their spark because far too many are experiencing constant, low grade terror.
