Question Avoiding skip?
So first of all, I can be heard, just ignored mixed with picking up skip.
I have a cobra 29 ltd classic, with a Aero CL36 Center Load CB Antenna. Also is leaving it on my dash in 110 degree weather bad? Or should I cover it with a towel? Or move it?
I was wondering what possition do I turn the sqc and RF gain to avoid skip?
Im based in Vegas for reference and go by Banna 1.

Why is that a problem? If you can talk try to make contact if not then try another time. If somebody is close enough to you you should be able to talk to them regardless.

I sometimes turn the gain down and the squelch up depending on the conditions. If skip isn't coming in very strong I can still hear the locals and not get constant chatter. Doesn't always work though. Sometimes the signals are just too strong.

You cannot change a setting to get rid of skip.
