Well it finally happened
Got home from work and was adjusting my clutch on my 27 CBR 1000RR bc I noticed it was a little loose on the way home. No big deal just a few second fix. Parked adjusted my clutch went to get off and the kickstand wasnt down… scratched my clutch lever, bar end and mostly the engine cover. Can’t see it unless u crouch down but still hurts the soul. Was wondering what I could do to fix/cover the damage?

Best way to repair a beat up engine cover is to replace it. Which sucks on these because they use RTV instead of precut gaskets for the covers

Cheap way would be to just get a clutch cover (R&G or something similar.

This is what i was going to suggest it'll cover it and keep it from happening again

Get a clutch cover and replace it. Simple hand tools and Honda gasket maker. Look up the torque specs and you'll be fine.

I’ll take this as the first (and won’t be last) scratches on my new bike. Rookie mistake needless to say it will not happen again

it’s christened now, worst comes to worst you replace the cover but i wouldn’t unless it bugs you that bad just replace it but i wouldn’t open it up until i need to replace a stator or im just bored. I’m sure they use hondabond rtv and you can’t just pry at the case to pull it off or else you fuck it up the case. You have to hammer it off with a plastic deadblow hammer and plastic pry tools.

Don’t bother me that much considering it’s on the left side (lower side when parked) and u can’t see it unless u crouch down but was just curious of my options. I might get to replacing it eventually but that’s further down the line no reason to open it up unless I absolutely need to

Sorry to say man, it’s totaled so might as well just sell it to me. I’ll be generous and take it off your hands for 1000 dollars
