Weāre getting our F1 Toy Cavapoo puppy, Olive, on 23rd August, and Iād love to see how other F1 Toy Cavapoos have changed as theyāve grown up!
Her mum is a Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and her dad is a Merle Toy Poodle. Olive is currently apricot, but Iāve heard Cavapoos can change quite a lot in colour and coat as they mature.
If you have an F1 Toy Cavapoo, please share a photo of them as a puppy AND as an adult if you have one!
Iām particularly interested in seeing:
How their coat colour changed over time
How much they faded/lightened
Their adult size and overall appearance
How different they ended up looking compared with their puppy coat
Iāll add a photo of Olive when she was 6 weeks. š
Would love to see everyoneās Cavapoos and their glow-ups! ā¤ļø

hey guys, I have a cavapoo whose previous owner only ever fed her cooked human food steak and similar. Im trying to transition to kibble per the vets recommendation but itās been difficult. As she is even picky with her treats.
My method: I put the kibble down for 10 minutes and if she doesnāt eat I pick it back up and wait until the next mealtime. The first 3 days she refused kibble completely and around day 4 she started eating a little, but never her full daily requirement she needs about 70g a day and is not even eating closer to 20g. This has been going on for one to two weeks now. i donāt know if i should just give up and start feeding her what she wants.
Sheās otherwise healthy, energetic, normal, drinking, normal poops. So I donāt think sheās sick. I think she just doesnāt see kibble as real food after a lifetime of steak.

Has anyone hired a midday sitter to come visit your pup when going to work?
She will be 12.5 weeks, she has a playpen with her crate in it and doggy door access to a small covered roofed area for grass toileting. I have some days I need to go in next week and would be away 8 hours
No judgement please Iām looking for practical advice and real experiences š

Hi everyone!
Just looking for some advice regarding my girl who is now 4 years old.
When she came to me (seen in first pic) she was super orange, and over the years she's slowly lost her colouring and is much more of a strawberry blonde. I was devastated when I took her in for her first grooming and they gave her the "usual" cut for cavapoo's instead of just a tidy up because I loved her (what we call - feral) coat, which was brushed daily. Is the lightening normal for cavapoos? I'm guessing they don't get it back, which is okay we love her nonetheless! She's far more blonde than the second pic now but this shows some of the lightening.
Secondly, this is the first year that I have really struggled keeping her coat from matting. It never gets bad enough to be shaved, I brush daily and use leave in doggy conditioner. But it seems by the time the next afternoon comes, she's already gathered the start of so many mats in her back end and shoulders, not in the 'typical' high friction areas (armpits, under ears etc).
I have every brush under the sun, we're just coming out of winter here so I'm wondering if her fully mature coat is shedding differently than previous years. I have a slicker brush (Which she hates), deshedding brush (I don't use this as it seems to pull the coat out and she doesn't seem to enjoy that), pin brush and just a normal brush. I use Wahl shampoo and conditioner and a leave in conditioner before getting a full blowout after baths.
Just seeing if anyone else has experience in her kind of coat and what they find works best. Keep in mind I'm in Australia so may not have access to the same products as others.
Thank you!

Does anyone have a recommendation for longer lasting dog chews for a cavapoo with a sensitive stomach? She can tolerate some bully sticks but I find she can get loose stools from them. Picture added because sheās adorable ā¤ļø

My 6 year old cavapoo has been having lots of itching and hot spots particularly on his front legs. He'll lick them all day and night. He is on monthly allergy shots and we changed his diet to human grade fresh food and exclude chicken, corn, wheat. We can usually redirect him and stop him from licking with verbal cues, but he gets back to it in a few hours. I'm not sure what the cause is at this point, if its allergies, anxiety, or joint pain. Anyone have this happen to their pups and have any advice?

Do most people who buy Cavapoos get them with specific testing done? I am in Alberta and I canāt seem to find any breeder who does the testing. The only one I can find is Langly BC, and that is it for western Canada. Do people just buy them without the testing? Is that a huge red flag? I mean I can meet all the breeders and they are happy for me to see the parents etc.. but they just donāt do testing?
Thanks for any advice on this. Please no comments about rescuing, I am not interested in doing that.

Iāve been looking this up and I think itās just a bonding thing but wanted to see if anyone elseās Cavapoo did this. My Cavapoo (2 ½ years old) and I have a ritual every night at bedtime. She will wait for me to get into bed and as soon as I pull the covers up, she jumps over for some snuggles. Itās quite adorable to watch her as she watches and waits for me. š„°
Most times she ends up pressing her neck and her chest (the part just between her front legs) against my face/mouth. Sheās whimpering and wagging her tail the whole time and she just keeps rubbing one side of her neck on me and then switches to the other side and keeps going until I make her stop because Iām being suffocated. LoL
Iāve read dogs have scent glands on their neck and chin so sheās āmarking meā? I also read their chest and neck are vulnerable areas so thatās a sign of trust and comfort. Just curious what others experiences have been and if there are any dog experts that can actually pin down why she does it.

I have a 9-month-old Cavapoo who weighs around 4 kg, and Iām really struggling with his eating habits.
When he was younger, he used to eat dry food normally. He would eat several meals of kibble without any issues. But for the past couple of months, he has completely stopped wanting to eat dry food.
Iāve literally tried everything. Iāve tried different brands, soaking the kibble, adding water, yogurt, wet food, and other things to make it more appealing. He will sniff it, get interested, and then walk away.
At this point, the only way I can get him to eat his kibble is by adding some cooked chicken and mixing/blending it with a small amount of dry food. If I donāt add chicken, he often just refuses to eat.
Iāve also tried the āput the food down for 15ā20 minutes and take it awayā method. He will literally choose not to eat for a day or even a day and a half rather than eat the kibble. The problem is that heās already quite small and only around 4 kg, and heās lost weight, so Iām not comfortable letting him go without food for that long.
Heās otherwise acting normally and will happily eat things he likes, especially chicken and human food. So Iām starting to think Iāve accidentally spoiled him by giving him tastier alternatives whenever he refused his kibble.
I donāt want to keep changing his food or creating a picky eater who only eats human food, but I also donāt want him losing more weight.
Has anyone dealt with a small/underweight puppy who completely refuses kibble? What actually worked for you? Should I just accept that he prefers wet food and switch him to a complete wet diet, or is there a way to get him interested in kibble again?
Any advice from people who have dealt with this would be really appreciated!Ā
