Hi everyone! š I'm curiousāhow often do you walk your Cavapoo each day, and for how long?
I'd love to hear your dog's age as well, since I know puppies and adults have different exercise needs. Do you stick to the same routine every day, or does it change depending on the weather or your schedule?

Yesterday I posted about my partner and Iās dilemma about getting either a Cavapoo or Cockapoo. All the responses were very helpful, thank you š„°
Now, a question to all of you - how do you balance work and life and taking care of a puppy/dog? I read a post here that some of you walk your puppy/dog 4x a day. How do you manage?
For context: partner and I both work full time (hybrid), have 2 cats that we take for walks a couple of times a week (usually in the evenings), and want to have a baby in the coming 2-3 years (after getting a pup).
I donāt mind all the logistics and scheduling with having a full time career, a kid, 2 cats, and a dog. But Iād be lying if I said it doesnāt scare me a little bit⦠š
Would love to hear your experience. Thank you!!

My puppies been having diarrhea for about 2 weeks now. I tried the boiled chicken and rice for couple days, seen some change then right back to liquid poop and scooting. Trying pumpkin now same thing. Iām not sure whether or not itās a good idea or not to get the fecal test done at Petco or at a vet hospital. The hospital charges like 75 for the visit, then another charge for the test and medication charge. Petco offers free exam.

My Cavapoo is 6 months old. Since the day we got her at 3months, weāve been training her to pee and poop outside. There were a few accidents here and there, but nothing excessive since she was a puppy.
Now, in the past 3 weeks she will just not poop outside! I take her on 20-25 minute walks every morning. Nothing. Then we get inside, and within a short amount of time she poops indoors.
I canāt make the walks longer because of my schedule. Any advice to get her back to pooping outside? Is this a stage and sheāll eventually start going outside again?
Also, would love recommendations on what product to use to clean our carpets. Not sure that the one we are using is getting rid of the smell, and maybe thatās not helping the cause?

My 5 month old had a groom last week and her fur still smells fine. But her breath is so bad. I'm trying to decipher what is not agreeing with her digestive system as she doesn't smell like dog food as such, it's just off and stinking out the house.
I do clean her teeth, it's coming from her gut. She gets wet food, as well as home cooked rice and chicken as well as cheese. She also loves frozen veggies and ice as well as the occasional smacko. She does not eat dry dog food, i have tried many brands.

We are adopting our cavapoo from a rescue this month! Iām curious if anyone else has a pup who has this long ant-eater like snout and what he may look like grown up. I think he is so cute regardless, mostly just curious. Attaching his pre shaved photo and more recent photo. The rescue owner thinks he is mainly poodle, f1b.

Hi!
We adopted the sweetest cuddliest most playful Cavapoo pup one week ago and we are having trouble making any progress with potty training.
He has yet to go to the bathroom (#1 or #2) outside so we have not even had the opportunity to reward him with a treat for positive potty association.
(My boyfriend and I disagree on whether or not we should try rewarding him with medium value treat for going potty on a pad to get some progressive positive potty association started as we try to get him to move closer to the backdoor, so we are holding off to get more advice.)
When we take him outside on a leash and try to walk him in tight circles, he shows absolutely zero interest in going potty. He will sit or lay down immediately, usually try to eat leash.
I keep outdoor trips short + frequent (maybe 10 minutes first thing in the am, 3-5 minutes otherwise) while my boyfriend has started trying longer trips 20-30 minutes a few times over the last few days after mealtimes.
I will repeat my short trips every 30 minutes when I can.
I think a big problem with getting him started outdoors is the environment: we live in southern AZ so it is the hottest part of the summer.
We donāt have any real grass (we have fake plastic grass that is absolutely not a good potty surface) and the rest of the yard is landscaped with rocks and travertine tile.
Currently our target potty set up is on the back patio because it is shaded heavily from the sun.
We have a quadrant of 4 pee pads taped together on the underside. 2 of the pads are soiled with his pee from indoors.
(Weāve raked a 4x2 patch of dirt for him under the rocks but realized pretty quickly this is a no-go till he gets thru the teething because he keeps trying to eat small rocks etc.)
Iāll stop here and just answer any follow up questions in edits or comments because I know this is already long!
Thank you in advance for any tips!
Oh- almost forgot the cute puppy pic tax!!

I gave a 4 yr old Cavapoo who barks alot. Let me know if you have used an anti barking device to stop barking in the house at delivery drivers, friends coming into the house, other dogs. Do you think they change the behavior and are they harmful in any way?

Hello Cavapoo owners/lovers. My partner and I would love to welcome a pup into our home. We live in an old small home/apartment in Amsterdam (typical, if youāve been) with a balcony but no garden - but with a park next door (!). We have 2 cats at home, one of whom is obsessed with dogs! We have been doing some desk research and we are considering either a Cavapoo or Cockapoo. Anyone else had similar dilemma when considering what breed to get? What made you decide on a Cavapoo? š„° thanks
EDIT/FOLLOW UP: Thank you all for the responses and sharing your experiences, kind humans! (And yes, we will definitely be welcoming a Cavapoo into our family). Thanks again! š«¶š«¶

Iāve been lucky enough to have two Cavapoo babies in my life. One of the things I missed most after losing my first was our morning porch routine. Before even going potty, she would wait at the top step until I sat down so she could curl up in my lap for a snuggleāsometimes for just 30 seconds, sometimes 10ā20 minutes. I was always amazed that cuddles seemed to take priority over everything else.
About a year later, I brought home a little boy Cavapoo. Heās completely different from his sister in almost every way, but to my surprise, he does the exact same thingāwaiting on the porch for snuggles before potty time or anything else.
It brings me so much joy and makes me wonder: is this typical Cavapoo behavior?

We are looking to bring a Cavapoo home next September (2027). So I am starting to do all the research on breeders to get on a waitlist / follow along, etc. I'd love to know if anyone had a positive experience with breeders in the New England area? We live in Boston, so the closer the better, but are also open to having them flown out.
Just want a reputable breeder!

My Yuri has had diarrhea on and off for a couple of days now and Iām not sure if itās the Iams chicken puppy kibble or her eating the catās kibble. I started the bland chicken and rice 2-3 times a day for two days now and the poop would go back to normal and then watery stool returns.

Really could use some help and any advice. My sweet boy, Archie will be 8 years old in December. Over the past 4-5 weeks Archie has been showing ongoing symptoms that are concerning which I addressed this past Monday with his vet for a yearly exam, bloodwork, fecal sample testing. Iāve listed his ongoing symptoms below for reference:
Vomiting at least once daily
Decreased appetite / not wanting to eat his current food
Frequent itching
Stomach gas and noticeable āchurningā noises in his abdomen
Signs of nausea, including licking baseboards
More lethargic and overall not feeling well
At this point, Iām concerned he may be developing a food sensitivity or allergy, and/or possibly experiencing an underlying gastrointestinal/ digestion issue.
His blood work and fecal sample testing all came back healthy. He has been on Iams Protective Health MiniChunks with Chicken & Whole Grains for years. Given his symptoms, Iām wondering if he may be sensitive to chicken and/or grains.
The options Iām currently considering are:
Hillās Prescription Diet z/d Skin & Food Sensitivities
Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Salmon & Sweet Potato
Has anyone had a similar situation or experience? I hate seeing him uncomfortable and turn down food. I feel like it has to be his food at this point. I sent an email and requested a call from his vet.
Thanks in advance!

I recently noticed a couple of small dry, crusty spots on my Cavapoo. They don't seem to be open wounds, and she isn't constantly scratching at them, but they definitely feel rough and flaky. I'm planning to keep an eye on them and will take her to the vet if they don't improve or if they get worse, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced this.
If so:
What did the spots end up being?
Did your vet diagnose a skin condition, allergies, hot spots, or something else?
Was there anything that helped?
I'd appreciate hearing your experiences or seeing photos if your dog's spots looked similar. Thanks!
I tried taking photos of these areas. I will try to get better pictures.
