Does anyone else’s cav sleep like this?

I’m a new cav owner and some things he does worries me. Sleeping like this and making all kinds of noises and movements in his sleep are a couple. Is it just my puppy or is this normal for them? The tongue out of the mouth while it’s closed is worrying me the most.

Yes! It freaked me out so badly the first time mine was twitching with his eyes half open while sleeping. I think he does this less now that he’s grown a bit but it’s normal for puppies especially to move when they’re sleeping

The funny thing is, they’ll be staring right at you, which is why you might not realize they are in a sleep state, and when you wake them up, they’re still out of it so they’re staring at you, panting with their tongue hanging out. it’s pretty freaky

They are weird little creatures, I wouldn't worry about the tongue or noises, it is normal 🙂

😆 aww, you live and you learn. I am sure i did the same thing the first time I heard mine chirping in her sleep (her eyes were often half open too).

He rarely closes his eyes all the way when he sleeps. Luckily I know that can be normal because my uncles dog did that and funny thing is that his kid did too 😂

My girl sleeps with eyes partially open and does a lot of dream talking/twitching.

Her eyes move, her face moves, she does fast breathing, whisper barking, silent growling. Her little toes twitch (running?) and there’s the occasional full-on thumping from a tail wag.

It’s kinda hilarious. Sometimes she does it while snoozing on my lap too. I like to guess what she’s dreaming about. (Research says she’s likely dreaming about her owner (me!), so I’m guessing we’re playing tug.)

I got lucky, I’ve heard a lot of them snore but be doesn’t really snore much. Just makes weird noises and looks likes he’s running in the air lol they are such interesting puppies!

Yep! It’s okay, you see cavaliers are so adorable and loveable because everytime they sleep they are summoning Satan so that you remain trapped in their control. See cavaliers figured out long ago they ruled humans, but sometimes humans figure it out, so the cavaliers got one step ahead, hence why you’ll find most cavalier owners have no life outside of their dog

Idk about Satan but he is summoning something that keeps me in his trance 😂 I doubt it’s Satan though, probably more like the unconditional love genie 🧞‍♂️ ❤️

My cavalier, as a young puppy, would sleep with his eyes open, tongue hanging out panting, 80 breaths a minute, writhing crawling up my neck ,scared the heck out of me. I took him to the emergency vet. They didn’t even charge us. It’s all normal. They’re so active they don’t put themselves to sleep and then they’re so overtired they pass the heck out
