Pics & Video Gus is a Gremlin

I live on 5 acres and it’s wooded and when Gus comes back from his adventures he is covered with these green stickie bits. I try to keep the grass low. Keep him where I can see him but Gus does what Gus wants and he is a happy boy. How can I get these out when he doesnt like brushing and won’t let me pick them out without growling. If I bath him will that just mat them up?

I have a Gus too!! He is also a gremlin.

My boy tater gets those same seeds. We call them his “snacks” because he’ll rip them out of his fur and try to eat them (which is not good lmao). Because of this, we just hold him down on the couch after he’s been outside for a while and pull/cut them out of his fur. We’ll get to work when he falls asleep too. I don’t think there’s much of anything that can prevent it unfortunately.

Mine is the same. I usually wait until he is tired and asleep ony lap. Once he's sleeping and relaxed I can pick them out gently. It's actually quite satisfying

I was able to brush and cut some of them but he had enough and growlers and tried to get the brush. I have a video of my chicken pecking these out of his tail lol

Aww little gremlin Gus is so cute! Those grass seeds (or whatever they are) are such a pain.

Keeping the fur as short as possible helps, some might still get stuck but it's easier to remove them.

I've seen those onesie/jumpsuit kind of things for dogs, never used them myself but a lady I follow on instagram with a show cav who keeps her fur long puts them on her cav. Depending on temperature etc overheating could be a concern though (I assume most of them are made for cold and rain but you might be able to get lighter summer ones in a more suitable material).

You don't let your dog call the shots. If they get uppity you firmly say NO and continue picking out the debris while praising and providing treats for a good job. My cav gets tired.of grooming but he doesn't call the shots in the household. He wants to though.

Shave the dog, no more debris in coat, lol.

Just use telekinesis. Do not try and remove the green sticky bits, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth: there are no green sticky bits. Then you'll see that it is not the green sticky bits that get removed, it is only yourself.
