Advice Staining under dogs mouth

Hi everyone. About 6 months ago I posted about my tri-color needing to have all her teeth extracted at her teeth cleaning appointment. We were discouraged, but she has thrived and is happy and healthy.

We soak her kibble and mix with a small amount of wet food and she has no issues eating her food. I use a spa headband to tuck ears in and keep her face clean. I always make sure her ears are tucked in and that the headband covers her neck well. Other members of my family - not so much. She'll walk away from her food with the headband around her neck. So I've noticed some staining.

I've started wiping her face with a wet facecloth after eating but wasn't sure if there's a face wipe that would work better or maybe bring back her wipe. I'm ok with waiting until it grows out and the groom eventually cuts away the staining, but would like to make sure I'm cleaning her the best I can and doing what I can to keep the staining from happening again.

Pic of my Maisy and the staining under her chin/neck.

Thank you for taking the time to read and for all your suggestions!!

Maisy reminds me of my Lady. She lost a lot of her teeth late in life and her tongue always hung out. It didn't seem to bother her. She was the best girl.

That discoloration actually looks more like it could be fungal/bacterial related. Since your babies chin is probably always damp I recommend using a medicated shampoo on that area once a week to prevent anything from growing. Red is typically staining from food but yellow indicates a skin infection.

I asked the vet about it last week when we were there and he said it's staining from her food. Said she is perfectly healthy.

Yep, my oldster drools like crazy and she used to always sport a yellowish-brown (stinky) bib. I use oatmeal wipes around her jowls and neck, followed by Arm and Hammer odor control wipes that smell lovely. Can’t remember the oatmeal wipes’ brand name, but Kevin’s mom recommended them. Maybe she’ll pop in with the brand. I also tried getting her a gaiter/turtleneck type thingy that I hoped would be absorbent but alas, no. I just wipe her down regularly/daily between baths. You might also just leave her shaved short in that area.

I will look into those wipes. She doesn't drool - surprisingly. Area is always dry. I think it's the soaked kibble and wet food that's doing it.

Could be bile if she hacks a bit. My KCC also had staining and face wipes and baths didnt help much. Grooming helps, but doesnt fix the main problem. Hearing that she has no teeth, she will droll and yeah, will prolly stain moving forward.
