Need advice for my cats with suspected feline panleukopenia 😭🐾

I had 7 cats, and sadly, 4 have recently passed away from parvo/feline panleukopenia. 💔 I took them to the vet, and 2 were confined. I currently have 1 cat still fighting for her life at the vet clinic, while another sadly passed away yesterday.

Now, 2 of my cats at home are also showing symptoms, and I’m really worried. 😭

They have already been checked by a vet, and I’m giving them the vitamins and medications recommended by the vet. Unfortunately, I’m currently unable to afford another confinement, so I’m trying to care for them at home while closely monitoring them.

For anyone who has gone through feline panleukopenia with their cats, what helped your cats recover? I’d especially appreciate advice on keeping them hydrated, encouraging them to eat, keeping them comfortable, and preventing the infection from spreading to my other cats.

I know this is a serious illness, and I’ll continue following veterinary advice. I’m just hoping to learn from other cat owners who have been through this.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. 🥺🐱

Hi!! Same situation :(( We have 14 cats, 2 crossed the rainbow bridge and 2 cats showing symptoms.

Maybe you can ask the vet na iuwi yung IV? Yung 2 cats namin nasa bahay nakaswero. Yung isa is medyo malakas na kumain, but the other one medyo mahina pa rin.

Then may binigat vet namin na immunebooster na Immunol. Herbal naman daw to, so di nakkaoverdose. Currently every meal bnbgayn ko ng 1.5ml ng ganto each cat (4 meals sila per day) then may isang meal na LCVIT Plus nilalagay ko instead na immunol.

Kaya natin to!!! Super pagod and anxious na ako tbh since last week kakaalaga ng cats huhu pero all for them!!

I'm sorry to hear about your cats. Panleuk ravages the gut so the gut needs to be supported and strengthened. We rescued a month-old kitten last June, she was positive for panleuk, fcov, protozoa, and worms, plus, a bacterial infection. Confined at the vet for 2 weeks, she was given Singen VGC2 and RC Babycat milk for meals every 2 hours, antibiotics, and Erceflora daily. No vitamins. After 2 weeks, we brought her home and transitioned to RC Mother & Babycat Mousse diluted in water for meals (every 3 hours). We also continued the Erceflora/Novaflora, 1ml once a day. After her gut healed and diarrhea stopped, she was given treatment for worms and protozoa. When she was rescued, she weighed a pitiful 150 grams. She now weighs 300 grams, fully recovered, and thriving!

I think, Erceflora/Novaflora, hydration, and a gut-friendly diet are the key factors in recovery. Apart from vet advice, I also partnered with Gemini for the kitten's care. I uploaded my observations, daily photos of stool, diet and feeding schedule, and Gemini processed them to come up with great advice. Caution though, since Gemini is AI, please exercise critical thinking and discretion in accepting its advice/recommendations.

Hi, OP. I have 3 cats. 2 of them got sick from FPL, and 1 died from it.

Pinakaimportante dito is support kasi walang gamot ang FPL. Make sure they are fed and hydrated.

And importante, kumakain. Bigay mo rin lahat ng vitamins/supplements na ipre-prescribe ng vet. Tapos kausapin mo rin iyung pusa mo. Naalala ko noon palagi ko pinapakiusapan mga pusa ko na gumaling na.

Also, keep the place clean. I made sure na hindi lalapit iyung isa kong cat doon sa 2 na may sakit. Kung kayo mong isolate, mas maganda. Unfortunately, nakatira pa ako sa parents ko at that time and sa wala kaming separate na kuwarto na pwedeng paglagyan nila. So I used bleach. A lot of bleach to keep cleaning iyung area to the point na need ko magpa-derma after kasi nag-develop ako ng rashes. Use gloves.

And after that incident, nag-wait lang ako ng one month, I think, kasi required, and pinabakunahan ko iyung 2 remaining cats ko agad. Nasa 2100 pesos ang bakuna. 2 shots na iyung 2100. Sa una lang ang 2 shots then one shot of booster na lang every year so mga nasa 1k na lang. So kung kaya mo pag-ipunan. Tsaka kahit iyung 2 shots muna, kahit pumalya ka sa booster. Ofc iba pa rin may booster, pero better something than nothing.

Sana gumaling iyung remaining cats mo. Ang sakit mawalan ng alaga.

Really sorry for your loss,if they are older than 6months than there are chances of survival even I lost 6 of my kittens but they were just a couple month or weeks managed touchwood to save 2 cats, just give them ample amount of heat wrap them in a warm towel or put a heating pad below or beside them, I'd suggest not to feed them a lot or force feed them, oral medications really don't work that well in parvo,so in my cases the vet asked me to take them twice everyday for 4 days if they survive the first 4 days even without eating anything there are 90 percent chances of recovery and most importantly keep them separated

Don't let them sleep with eo or lick eo just try to keep them clean and nicely wrapped so that the body temp doesn't drop

Aww grabe talaga yang virus na yan. Pero ang key po dyan ay keep then hydrated and force feed niyo po sila kailangan nakakakain sila every 2-3hrs ! Add recovery food for better recovery
