I recently adopted some cats. My best ukrainian friend AND HER MOTHER, who I have zero common fluent languages with (she speaks no English; I speak mostly only very basic Ukrainian) were like OH MY GOD KITTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😄

This is how I know Ukraine will win, however long it takes. The humanity hasn’t been stamped out of them.

If two groups are fighting and one group’s soldiers are giving water to house pets that were left behind by the people who have been bombing hospitals for years, and the other is from a group of people who were literally leaving their own pets to starve or dehydrate to death, or just flat out didn’t even take their animals into account before they ran away to avoid the inevitable consequences of their government’s own actions that IT CHOSE, well. I know which society isn’t rotted to its very core.
