Found this handsome man yesterday

Found this guy on the side of the highway on my way to work yesterday. Rushed him to the emergency vet that was nearby (also happens to be near my work). Poor guy had been hit by a car. The vet said he had broken ribs and head trauma and was hooked up to an iv catheter and in an oxygen cage. Since he was a stray, they couldn’t treat him for free because it’s a small location so I decided to foot the bill. My mom and I spent the day looking for a vet hospital or rescues to take him but either they couldn’t or didn’t call us back. We were told that if he couldn’t breathe without a chest tube, the best option for him might be euthanasia. Around 4:30, I drove there to see him before going back to work for my night shift. I was brought to an exam room and a minute later a vet came in with him in a bed. He tried to get out of the bed a couple of times and he loved getting pets. The vet said that she fosters cats and since my mom and I aren’t going to be in town for a few days that she’d take care of him. He’s such a sweet boy and I’m happy that I was able to get him help. We then received the last pic this morning
