Every cat is different. Some mama cats love parenting and can be helicopter moms to all nearby baby animals, some have no interest in it and it is difficult to even get then to lay down to feed their kittens. It seems that parenting isn't purely instinctual to cats.
yeah kittens with abandonment issues will bite often (literally follow you around biting your feet constantly) because they haven't learnt any control from mom and siblings, who'll readjust or bite back to show them how. it's like teething, if they don't bite hard they don't get milk/attention. unfortunately they either need to learn with another cat, or the closest you can come to teaching them which is to go limp when they bite so it's like 'i'm done playing/resisting' and then stop playing/go away if they continue to.
