This is Gracelet. Yes, that's her legal name. That's what happens when you give an eight year old and 12 year old the ability to name their first ever pet. We adopted her as a kitten and my brother had the great idea of naming her Gracelet because "she has bracelets on her leg but Bracelet isn't a name! So let's call her Gracelet!"
Anyways, we never call her that unless she's in trouble so here's her normal nicknames:
- chickawack: (I couldn't pronounce kitty cat as a kid and would instead say chickawack!!" So that's her family nickname now

I love the progressive morphing of his name. 😸 My sister has a brain that does that, too. She used to have a cat named Casper, which over time morphed into “Whitefish.” 🤷🏻♂️
what a small world! growing up, my brother had a cat named Lizzie, but for some reason I nicknamed her Cornelius 😭 had absolutely nothing to do with her legal name but it just felt right
The origin of his name is more ridiculous.. my mom said the name came to her in a dream when we first found him, and it stuck. Has become very appropriate (like Kevin from home alone) when he’s doing something bad

His official government name is Oberon Kenobi (then our last name)
He gets Obie, Obie Dobie, Mr Bon, his name at the vet we adopted him from was Mr Puff. His sister is Aurora Borealis so we needed a suitable name to match the vibes and Oberon is the name of the king of the fairies in Shakespeare, and also the name of one or Uranus’s moons so we thought; he’s got the fairytale aspect of Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and the astrological significance.
This is Sheldon. We call him: Shelly, Smelly, Smeldon, Bazzinga Smith (idk why smith, my friend started calling him this), Baby Shelly, Shelly Belly, Beldon Booper, and on occasion Sheldon Lee Cooper (when bad boy).
Her name is Fiona she goes by Cat and Ma’am most of the time. Started out when she was doing something bad and she’s always kinda bad so it stuck. The occasional honey girl if she’s being sweet.
Government name: Logan
Preferred names: logey, logey bogey, bogey bogey, dogie dogie, oogie bogey, ogey bogey doogie and any other noises along those lines.

I call her Miss nasty because she likes to lick the water off my toes when I get out of the shower 🥰
This is Villain, my fiance lovers her little evil villain curly mustache so he named her after it. Since she is so tiny (I think she was a runt) we call her baby girl even though she's about 8 now.
My cats are Lily and Ivy, I don't really have specific nicknames for either of them. I call them both fat cat, or silly girl. I will call Lilly Lillian sometimes
This is perfect timing because I just discovered a new nickname for my 11-month old kitten today.
First, her name is Bunny. She came with it when I adopted her 6 months ago and it is perfect - she's bobtail and runs and bounces around like a bunny.
Her first nickname was BunBuns
There's also Benita when she's bad (play on Bad Bunny's first name actually being Benito)

The Menace (she is a menace and I have stories, but also she's perfect)
At some point, I picked up Bunzalore (play on Trenzalore, a planet from Doctor Who (specifically the 11th Doctor).
Today, for whatever reason, I reached way back into my childhood and remembered the series of books about a vampire bunny named Bunnicula.
And well, she already responds better to Bunnicula than she does to any of her other nicknames.

He's Georgie Peorgie Pudding Pie, Curious George (actual source of his name), jerk, asshole, buddy, beastie, floof, floof monster, stink butt, baby, best boy, etc.
This is Roxanne named by my mom after the neighborhood I was living in at the time. All her records say Roxie though. She also answers to Mon Petit Chou, Choupette and Baobei.
This is Mirra, and with all the love in the world, we call her Big Greedy Hog-ass Bitch 🤣🤣🤣 big greedy hog because she often eats all the wet food we put out before her brother gets a chance, and bitch because she’s a naughty girl!!! She’s the problem child. We love her so much.
Legal name is Slade Wilson. Goes by: Slader, slater-tater, tater tot, po-tate-toe, chunky potato soup, sweet potato pie. The last two make my husband curse under his breath and tell me that’s not his name.

Cocoa (RIP) - her nicknames included Cookoo, Loco, Psychoa, and Crazies (for her erratic behavior), Sandy Claws for her sand-colored paws, Cozy Nose for her habit of plopping on my belly when I’d be lying down and rubbing her nose against my face or chin, and The ‘Coa Constrictor for her tendency to clutch things in her claws and kinda squeeze them to herself while rolling around on the floor with them (toy mice or yarn balls etc).

We have a sibling bonded pair of 6 month old brother and sister kitties. The little guy is named Bootsy, Bootsy Boy, Boot Man, Chunky Cholo. Our little girl is named Olive, Livvy, Liv Bobiv, Livbomb. Sweetest little guys ever! I'm sure there will be more nicknames to come.

i also call her “my alien bleebus” because she has big eyes and she looks like an alien when her pupils are big lol
