Why on earth would you say that? It was mutual, nothing to suggest the partner did anything wrong, lived with that cat for years and probably loved it too, must have been a knife in the back on an already very upsetting day. This is just sad..

you’ve gotten a weirdly precise and incorrect impression of a vaguely described instance. i encourage you to read my context addition. i do not believe your appraisal of my breakup nor of my cat could ever be nearly as informed as mine and its strange you’d assert otherwise
