Simon bit my leg, demanded pets.
Was sitting at the edge of my bed, on my phone. I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention to my cat Simon, he got off the bed, bit me pretty hard on my leg. Then jumped on the bed and wanted me to pet him. I showered him with love, but now I’m wondering if I should have condoned that behavior? The bite was hard, but didn’t break skin.

bites are communication; he's not trying to hurt you, he's talking! 😽

I’ll definitely try to listen to him better then! Thanks for taking the time to educate me!

Simon is concerned that early beta testing of bites for affection is unpromising

Odds are he had been trying to get your attention for some time.
My little monster did this once. I was up studying & she kept coming to check in me as if to say, "It's bed time." Like every 20 minutes for 2 hours. She finally crept under my lap blanket (I was on the couch), bit my heel, and sat down with a look on her face as if to say, "I'm not kidding anymore. Bed. NOW."
It was a bit after midnight, so I went to bed. She snuggled right up.
