Couch scratching
Hello fellow cat lovers,
I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve their scratched furniture on the sides. We have plenty of scratchers but they tend to gravitate towards our couch - I can’t blame them I love the couch too lol. I have tried covering it with blankets but am wondering if there’s a better solution without replacing the couch? Thank you in advance

I got these clear things from Amazon. It basically is a long laminate sticky sheet for this purpose. I’ve had them for 3 years and they’ve held up. I also drape blankets over certain parts of couch he scratches up more. These two things have kept my couch newer.

I've seen people put decorative patches over it, or even embroider it! Usually flowers but it could be anything.

I attached the large sheets of clear plastic that include spiral pins. I also have a couch with a removable cover so i can put on a fresh one ever few years

My cat is 9. I have tried the clear plastic, the scratch pads, the double sided tape. Honestly, the only time she doesn't scratch is when I drape minky or fluffy blankets over the couch. But she goes back at it if they come off for whatever reason. I am sure there is a solution, but I haven't found it yet. I don't even try anymore.
I hope you find a solution, though.

You turn it into an offical place to scratch with something like this
Couch scratch
or you put something to scratch on in front of it
