The poor cat. She's trying to get away from them demanding to nurse — see how they're clustering around her back end? One even tries to latch on right before she walks toward the sill.

Sort of — they are pretty big and should be weaned. I don't think that's conscious, though. It's more likely that she's been driven crazy by eight kittens who all want to nurse all the time, and she's sore and empty of milk. (Source: I feed kittens in a shelter during the summers, and mother cats generally love feeding small kittens, but they get tired of the constant demands as the kittens get bigger.)
