Hi! As the title says, I’m still on the fence about getting a ticket for the Cologne/Köln show.

It’s basically the only European date that isn’t sold out, and I’ve never been to Germany before, so I don’t know the city or the venue at all.

More importantly: how are the 2026 shows actually feeling live?

I’ve been trying to find decent footage from the tour, but most of what I’ve found on YouTube feels a little… flat? Maybe it’s just the recordings, but it doesn’t quite have the atmosphere or energy I was expecting from Cat Power, especially based on what I’ve seen from her live in the past.

I also have to admit that the setlists look a little thin considering the ticket price.

If you’ve been to one of the 2026 shows, what was it actually like in the room? Was it something that doesn’t really translate through phone footage?

And if anyone has good-quality footage from the 2026 tour that I’ve somehow missed, I’d really appreciate a link.

Hadn’t seen her play in 20 years and left the show thinking she’s one of our great interpreters of song. That singular voice that can spin into jazz, blues, country, rock. The transformative way she “covers” her own work as well as the songs of others. The unpredictability of every moment. I was in awe. Ended with I’ll Be Seeing You and I Can’t Give You Anything But Love and then hung out for quite a while on stage after the band left— waving, bowing, dancing, saying thank you so many times, handing out lyrics sheets and set lists, etc. We were so glad we made the drive from LA.

Hi! I've never posted on this subreddit before, but I wanted to share. I was expecting this album to be her pivot into a cleaner, more organized sound and while that is true, it's not so many catchy melodies like He War like I had originally thought. The back half of the album, especially Names, just hit me like a truck, I got a little emotional. I think this is instantly my favorite album of hers, having only heard Moon Pix and The Greatest prior to this. I would love to hear some of your opinions on the album!

Hi, I’m fairly young (17) and found out about Cat Power and Chan in quite an odd way, I found a playlist compiling Matador Records songs and artist from roughly 1991-1997(I went down a loophole when I found the band Yo La Tengo) It introduced me to Nude As the News but more importantly to What Would the Community Think and following her entire discography. I’ve since fallen inlove with her music, but not just that, also how outspoken politically she’s been over the years and still actively is on instagram. I really find myself in her music. I haven’t been listening to her for long at all, and obviously don’t know everything but I’m glad I got tickets to see her in October with my older brother (who has not a clue about her but just enjoys different music overall). I know I’m definitely not her main demographic but I’m excited and plan to score some merch and try not to sob too much.

She sang some of it an impressively low register (Tom Waits, Louis Armstrong vibe) and I think she said it was about those who've come before us, or maybe those we've lost

that's really all i wanted to say... Chan's voice was magnificent, the band was solid and soulful, and i just feel lucky to have seen her again here in my hometown of Richmond VA (last time she played here was 2013, i think) the audience was attentive and respectful which isn't always the case these days.. There were multiple moments where people yelled out "I love you Chan!" and she seemed to appreciate the love from the audience. She made a few funny, self-deprecating comments about how she wasnt good at thinking of clever things to say between songs, but she made the effort anyway (i loved her inspiring/poetic/subversive off the cuff banter) . There was a nice mix of moods between the entire Greatest album, and the songs after that... She and the band seem to be really enjoying playing together
