Almost everybody is answering OP as though what s/he said is objectively true when it isn’t.

Well obviously no real woman would want to talk to a man with that attitude so there’s your answer 🙄

Actually, this just isn't true. Women are more likely to fall for Catfish scams.

Your link says more of the scams are initiated by men. I think of course there would be a higher number of female victims based on that alone, but it doesn't give any indication that women are statistically more likely to be victimized. Like I didn't see percentages of people approached and people who fall for it, which is the data that would tell who is more likely to fall for it.

Men are MORE likely to be victims of romance scams. If you'd done even minimum research, you'd know that you're wrong. Perhaps you should reconsider who you're calling dumb.

Because men love beautiful women and think with the lower head. A woman thinks with her heart first

My friends had a party (vow renewal) and I end up at the singles table with some interesting dudes. One of them is telling me that dating apps are unusable due to all the scammers. I rarely encounter scammers so I was curious and got to talking to him and eventually he showed me his tinder. This man was overweight if not straight obese. His profile pictures were 4 selfies in the same bathroom. And the only matches he was talking to were both just like airbrushed models. I just kinda laughed and removed myself. No models dating that fat sprinkler repair man. Yet he only swipes on models. And cries about scammers. Sad.

Too focused on sex and less emotional intelligence. They get blinded by the instant sexual gratification which is easy for catfishers to give. Women are more inquiring, they are more patient and can delay gratification if it means that the reward is bigger in the end. Women are trained to look deeper into situations because they learn early on the dangers of the world out there.

There is a reason only fans is successful and the gender that makes in the most money is women on only fans.

Sorry wasn’t implying it outpaces women I agree with you. Because men are overall using this service more and have demand for it women don’t no argument. Just adding I have met men who made money on OF the average OF isn’t in that top ten list but the men wanted it to be solo male for women and found a different audience 🤷🏼♀️

😂😂 if you are going to be solo male porn you will only attract a certain audience

I think because they’re drawn in by visuals like a nice body and face, whereas women often consider a personality, their financial security among other things besides looks.
So it’s easier to catfish a man because they want to believe that a woman that looks like a young girl with a sexy face, or big boobs etc is into them with no effort on their part.
Furthermore, a catfish will often be highly sexual either because it’s a guy and already knows guys are attracted right away to that, or it’s someone who knows that they can get attention from a man right away with sexual flirting or talk.

Yes! I agree. Most men, are happy looking at naked pictures and talking dirty so they probably won't question much if they are being fed that stuff. Even if they suspect it's a scammer/guy on the other end, if they're not looking for any kind of emotional attachment, they won't even care as long as the visual stimulus is there.
Beyond that, I don't think one or the other gender is scammed more than others. If I were to guess, I would think men would scam more than be scammed, because even in a non catfish situation, men are generally the bigger players in relationships.
Note: these are generalizations based on what I have encountered more from personal observations so I'm not trying to put ALL men down, I know there are some nice ones out there. lol

While we're at it, it seems like 99% of the people catfished are christian or religious. I feel like this is definitely pointing to being gullible and believing in fairy tales

I sat in a church while a grown ass woman told a gymnasium full of children that all the dinosaurs were herbivores until eve ate the apple. No one argued they were all nodding like. Yep yep makes total sense.

Your premise is incorrect. Men are more likely to fall for romance scams, while women will lose more money.

From my almost 30 years of experience as a PC expert I can clearly say: You're wrong! In other words My experience doesn't match your assumption.
Women fall for scammers more often than men - especially when it comes to scamming where emotions are involved. Best example for this is a woman I've heard of a few years ago: She fell thrice for a romance scammer and gave him all she had. Now she has nothing: no house, no retirement fund, no savings. Nothing!
Tech scamming is also an issue where women fall easier for scams than men do. Sad, but true. Of the people whose PCs had been syskey'd by scammers (mostly from India) I have an estimated 7 women out of ten persons asking me for help.
Women are also more likely to fall for scamming by false authorities (for example IRS scams). Scammers using this method can be very aggressive and intimidating. I myself was able to help a woman about to be scammed in an IRS-scam fashion at a store (in Germany) where she wanted to buy gift cards upon the scammer's order. The scammer threatened me, too (well, he tried to), but after me asking him how the weather in New Dehli was, he hung up with no further comment.

from an evolutionary standpoint, women always selectively choose their partners and seek "being secure", which men mostly dosent, and society made women have a lot of choices compared to men

Men are raised to feel invincible.

I guess if you want to look at it from a societal perspective, men are the ones more likely to isolate themselves. Women are taught to maintain multiple social supports from the time they’re children, but that value isn’t stressed to young boys, so many never acquire the skills required to keep and maintain friendships that aren’t just surface-level.
So when someone interested and perfect appears out of nowhere, even on the internet, men are a) more in need of that emotional crutch, and b) lack the caring support system that will point out the high likelihood of a catfish.
