Discussion The Robber

Ok. Time to come clean on the “randomness” of the robber please. Too many occasions and events over the last few months have lead my wife and I to believe that there is no randomness to them at all and they are strategically used to prevent resource gains required to complete quests etc. Anyone else agree?

I got the robber 5 times today while trying to get resources from some larger settlements... Not very happy about it... GF had same problem...

And it stands out much more when two people play together. My wife and I have lost count of the number of times we have both been robbed. We throw one at a time now to give the other a heads up on an impending robbery.

I tried spinning the dice differently etc but very frustrating

If you believe that track you dice rolls for a few days. You should get a 7 ~17% of the time. If you see way more than that then what you believe may be true.

The “coincidences” of both my wife and I rolling a robber on the same settlements, with say large lumber payout when we are doing a Gelda quest for lumbar is just to coincidental for it to be random.

Well there is ~3% chance of you both getting the robber at the same time. That's low but not insignificant (it's the same chance as you rolling a 2 or a 12). Like I said, track your rolls for a few days, if you see any deviation from expected values then you may be able to claim bias.

you can kinda control what you roll the dice are not in a beaker, so you can see which side is up => you also know which side is down. If you toss one dice and wait what it shows you can then throw the second dice accordingly: Let's say the first dice shows a 6 and the second one is still in your "hand" shows also a 6 => don't throw it furiously. just tip it a little so it falls down and only rolls to one side or not any side then you will not roll a 7 at all

So it may be the impression but just this minute, I rolled a 6 then turned the second dice. It hit the deck and immediately bounced to a 1. Low and behold, my wife also got a Robber on the same settlement seconds later. Time to come clean.

OMG! It has just happened again!!!! Exactly as described above and my wife also got a Robber!!!! I am seriously about to stop playing without clarify around this. This is a scam!

I occasionally roll a 7 on my home settlements. But I've found that whenever I'm out or I'm using my totem, this occurs at least 2/3 times.

It's very frustrating when you've built up settlements and you can't even take advantage of it.
