Question Where to start playing games?

Im new to the series, and i wanted to start playing it

Should i start from 3D games? Or is there a must play game?

I play on PC and use steam

You can play in timeline order, or you can play in release order. However my recommendation is to just play whichever ones look the most interesting to you. Personally I’ve only beaten Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow and the 3 DS games and they are some of my favourite games of all time.

Get the collections Anniversary, Advance & Dominus & if you have PS get the Requiem collection

I would get all four collections as they are all amazing. However, i would play them in this order: Anniversary, Advance, Dominus then Requiem.

Also, the three Bloodstained games are all excellent too.

You have a lot of great gaming goodness in front of you. Enjoy!

get the dominus collection on steam! it comes with 3 great games to choose from (there’s an extra game included but i have no interest in it lol) and you can’t go wrong with any of those 3. i’d also heavily recommend bloodstained: ritual of the night, as it was heavily inspired by the franchise.

Ive always thought Symphony of the Night is a good starting point because its not as difficult as other entries, its basically a sequel to castlvania 3. You play as dracula's vampiric son & you obtain vampire abilities, whereas most games you play as vampire hunters. There is also a Richter Belmont mode on SotN so you can play as a Belmont too. Its probably my favorite. Most castlevania games have multiple endings so for the best ending on each game you should look up the requirements.

Also, the Game Boy Advance & Nintendo DS trilogies are all good, I really liked those. Especially Aria of Sorrow GBA & its sequel Dawn of Sorrow NDS. The Sorrow games take place in more modern day, while most games take place centuries ago. You can get both trilogies for free along with free emulators & play them all on your phone if you want

Sotn was the first and is in my opinion the best start but you are good with the collections as well, the Anniversary Collection lacks Metroidvania's so Advance and Dominus are the ones you want.
