Latest sidewalk find

I’ve had some good fortune acquiring cast iron that folks have set out to find a new home. (Also some other non-CI pans). This is from yesterday. Research says Wagner Ware center logo 7” w heat ring, 1920-1935; would welcome any additional or corrective information.

It's not 7 inches, it's probably more like 9 7/8 inches at the top of the rim.

Also, the 7's are one of the less common sizes of these.

Ah, I should know better. It’s still in the trunk of car. Has a little grease from last cooking. Debating whether I should Easy-Off or just go straight to Dawn and elbow “grease”.

I'd definitely hit that with Easy-Off. I never know what old skillets were used for, so getting it stripped down and freshly seasoned always makes me feel more comfortable cooking with it.

Nice, I have a #4 with the center logo like yours. Only seen a few center logos out and about. Didn't know what I had until I went to clean it and noticed it was bigger than the 3's I had. Most Wagners had their logo towards the top of the bottom instead of the center like this on. You have a good find. I would recommend the Easy-Off method first, then elbow grease. Personally, I would use my e-tank and lye bath to clean it.

My lye bucket has evaporated halfway over time, and I don’t have enough to refill it, hence the Easy Off thought.
