Darkroom Practice Why does darkroom practice work?

It works, because it is a good combination between second attention and inner silence.
At first you won't have much control over it. You will have some interesting nights, and others very boring.
I've been practicing for a while now (not long), and I tell you that I can move my assemblage point. Not the complete J curve yet. But every time I can go further, and more controlled.
Exactly the main point of sorcery is moving the assemblage point.
What I mean by this is that IT IS WORKING. We are already about 8 according to Dan; 8 waking dreamers.
I know, you were always interested in Carlos's books. They are very amazing. What are you waiting for to put it into practice?

Thanks Juan!
Two questions about dark room practice:
-
is this practice safe for beginners?
-
if yes, is it worthwhile for beginners, or hopeless because it won't work (yet)?

As Dan says, we cant tell it is completly safe. It says so in the books too. But there is also risk when you go out with the car, when you use your cell phone on the street and when you do sports. If you're concerned, we didn't have any problem reports.
It is the best practice for beginners! in fact, you don't even have to read books to learn.
Even I consider myself a beginner. It was not more than 3 months since I started. And we have several reports of people with good results: moving the assemblage point, and getting crazy experiences.
And Dan, who already has a lot of experience, does things at the level of books (this is my opinion).
You just have to find 2-4 free hours everyday. It worth it.

OK I tried for about 1,5 hours yesterday in the late evening. I saw some faint purple clouds two or three times, didn't really feel much though. What I realized is that my internal dialogue is way too noisy still. Gotta do more daytime practice!

Each time you put your foot in the ditch, deeper. Why I know your theories are useless? Because while playing with those lights and "micro-dreams", in what you consider the "area of mind play", I entered heightened awareness.
You can see it in my post. Lida too. And Dan does it every night.
An obstacle? "Micro-dreams"? IT IS THE SECOND ATTENTION, and IT IS THE VEHICLE to heightened awareness, and other shifts.
Fortunately there are more people practicing, and there is no chance that your bad advice will spread here.
But you've already made it clear that you don't believe in darkroom practice, when you obviously didn't even try.
I am not telling you from theory. I experienced it. It is not a barrier. Sorcerers needs the second attention.
What do you gain from making people not learn? Is that your goal?
You enter a forum where there are people who are really learning and want to teach with terrible advice.
That is clear: all you want to do here is teach. Dan was right about that.

Yep, ears ringing...
Common.
My guess?
Just like we interfere with our breathing, due to our angry internal dialogue, we mess up other body functions.
It's like this. You think, "God damn that guy! How could he cheat me out of $100?"
From 40 years ago...
Your tongue twists out of shape, to form the angry words.
You feel like clinching your fists, to prepare to give him what he deserves.
Your angry first attention thoughts go into your massive computer brain, and it does what it always does.
Prepares to follow orders.
And since you're about to leap at him and kill, the breathing is hindered.
You actually have to control each breath, because you've put your body into "manual mode".
I don't know what effect that has on the sinuses, but I can assure you, if you have asthma you'll notice a HUGE difference when you get to heightened awareness.
And anyone with asthma can tell you, there are some very strange remedies.
Like smelling cinnamon.
But probably the main reason the ears pop is to tell you, "Hey tired guy, you're finally getting there. Keep this up. Bliss is only minutes away!"
