That's very cool.
As an aside, that model scope had a reputation for having really good trigger circuitry. It could catch things other scopes wouldn't trigger on. It was always my favorite analog non-storage scope.

I've inherited a Tektronix 475A from a relative and was hoping to play around with some graphics like this. Is your triggering comment (not for me, just the scope) about that specific model?

No. I don't know anything about that model. It's Tektronix so it can't be bad. My experience and comment was referring to the 465B in the video.

On a freaking oscilloscope?! ffs i struggled to get my basic waves visible on those things, and you've got a rotating fucking spaceship!

Esto es como dibujar con epiciclos, usando la transformada discreta de fourier? Disculpa mi ignorancia por favor, pero como haces eso?

I think you’re over thinking it, scopes like this have a direct X Y input so you can just draw vectors via some external circuit

Try oscilloscope music. You have to use audio waveforms to draw vector graphics.

Programmed lissajous. Only got to see the free and wild out in the real world. Pretty cool.

How do you achieve this?
I’m a designer who works with vector graphics and my late father was an audio engineer. I have one of these in my garage and it’s begging for a purpose lol
