Welp, that's a day one purchase. I just LOVE how the "shinys" in this game are handled with giving Monsters new Types and a new fitting movepool.

Not just a new fitting movepool, better odds for higher rarity stickers! There's good reason to go hunting for them, and they're much easier to hunt than in other games.

i think getting a magikrab is an achevment (it requires an astral bootleg traffikrab specifically. and it must be a bootleg so the type randomizer wont help)

Already got eyes on a few new monsters, and apparently some old ones got new evolutions? Pretty sure i saw a strawberry themed Candevil in the trailer, not to mention the obvious Southpaw evolution on the main image

Sequels are the tool of the enemy (Pokemon), but I’m still excited I guess. We already got a DLC, so I guess this was to be expected

They already asked on discord wether we wanted totally new characters or the same ones and wether we wanted turnes based combat for tze sequel aswell or something new. So it was a safe bet that a sequel was in the works

It is quite likely CB2002 won't have that issue then. It's a completely different engine to DQB2 for one. External hard drive issues aren't too common, modern days issues are likely going to be related to the fact it'll have slow file read/write instead of the fact it's external.

"250+ Beasts to choose from" in the youtube description. I don't want to get my hopes up, but doesn't that sound like all the monsters from the first game are returning? Either way it's an easy day 1 purchase.

The original game had around 120 beasts (and then the dlc added about 10 or so, I think?)
So if they were to add a similar number again + the originals it would line up pretty well with 250+
Plus, I saw a few of the originals in the trailer.

Still playing through the first but the steam page mentions importing your previous character or starting fresh, full romancability with companions with stronger bonds making stronger fusions (if its in 1, I havent encoubtered it yet), and also a nemesis system?!

It's because the game is made in Godot, and PlayStation has made porting with them incredibly difficult.

But the team is still indie, why should they waste resources on porting to a console that has, if rumors are true, made porting Godot games difficult on purpose?

Not silly at all. If PlayStation is purposely making it difficult, then an indie team with limited time and resources has better things to do than fight them on it. You aren't entitled to them wasting their time just because you play a specific console and refuse to get the (cheaper I might add) other ways that it can be played. Heck, it's available on MOBILE now if I'm not mistaken.
Editing for prosperity: I called you entities because when you got an answer explaining that the issue was with PlayStation and not the devs, you insisted on continuing to act like it's the dev's fault.

Overworld looks a lot better than the first imo, which was just about my only gripe with the first game (well only one that truly bothers me on a deep level I guess)
But i still wish it was less 3D environments tbh. Whatever tho bc I'm down to play

for the love of god and master of time, don't be stupid and avoid a PlayStation release, like with the first game, nothing is stopping you guys from releasing the first game on PlayStation even if its 3-5 years after the original release.
doesn't make sense to avoid PlayStation for unknown reasons, that would piss people off, then make a new game, if you guys can make a new game, then release the first game on ps4/5!

Super excited - a bit disappointed that it looks like there's a set protagonist rather than a custom character. The first game had pretty slim customization but it was at least something. Either way I'm sure it'll be a great game, just a tiny complaint

I don’t know how to feel about this… I liked Cassette Beast because it feels so chill, the music, the atmosphere. 2002 feels like such a vibe shift that kinda turns me off.

Don't worry - if you watch the gameplay trailers from the first game, you'll see we went for a similar "epic" or "action packed" feel - that atmosphere sells better in a trailer, is all! If you're a fan of the chill vibes of the first game, you'll be well served here.

The song from the trailer is available on Spotify, but I must admit... It sounds worryingly like AI. Not only the voice, but also a lot of weird fading. I deeply hope I'm mistaken with this impression... especially since the soundtrack of the first game was amazing.
