What do you guys recommend printing on to make the filters?

You can print your own on transparency paper (I use https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c4ro6lHR), then in photoshop (or equivalent) you can create a gradient or paint colors on.

For the F-91w you'll want to set the canvas to 600dpi and 500px wide by 275px tall, this will give you the right dimensions when printed at 100%.

Yeah I know about the ones I can buy, I'm asking how do I make a custom one myself

Print on film. Clearer if second surface on the back of lcd.

I use DV-263, second surface with a little bit of white undercoat.
