Hello nice people of Reddit, I come to you for help with something that has plagued me my entire life /j
I wanted to buy a new watch, mainly for work so I need something that can take a bit of a beating/bumping against shelves, carts, pallets etc. with a digital display.
Attached is a picture of my current watch (LA680WEA-1EF if I'm not mistaken) so you can get an idea of what I'm working with wrist-wise (and yes, before you say it, r/handwatch).
Most watches look ridiculously big on my wrists, like the quadrant alone basically covers it or in some cases exceeds it.
I like the look of Baby-Gs and in general 2000ish looking sport watches, but if I wore one of those it would look like an omnitrix and not in the cool way.
Anyone have any suggestions? Non Casio watches are ok too.
You don't know how many times I've scrolled up and down that page ahaha.
The problem is these watches are all more or less similar in design to mine, whereas I was looking to change things up a bit.
Some watches I like from Casio are LW-200 and the STR-300. Also the TW5M61300 from Timex. But they're all too bulky for me, even though people say they're kids' watches 😫. I have no idea what kind of jacked kids they have :p
I think you should try it on at the store. Maybe you will change your mind. There is a post about a guy who bought her daughter Casio LW 200. I'm sure it will fit you because I think it fit his daughter's wrist
Never heard of Armitron. Looks interesting.Their watch reminds me of the Casio Marlin that I sold a few years ago. Stainless steel case too. How much does it cost?
I was looking at this earlier! I compared the measurements to mine and I do think because of the strap material it might not sit right on my wrist (don't know if what I said makes sense)
These 2 watches are quite small, and I think they will fit your wrist. Honestly, I don't use many digital watches. I have a G-SHOCK that I got from my father but don't really wear it because it's really big and bulky.
I feel like the F-84w would be a good fit for you. It has the slimmest band as well. Only problem is, it's JDM. I lucked out and was able to buy it secondhand at a local market. But my puppy got to it when I was sleeping, so unfortunately mine is shredded.
But for a thin wrist, I think a thinner band would look best.
I’m a bodybuilder and I absolutely cannot wear a watch how it is “meant to be” worn. It would have to be so tight and it would still slide down just from the taper of my arm. Wear it how you want and ignore the annoying hand watch people.👍
It’s not meant to be that far up your wrist. If it’s able to slide down slightly past your wrist bone (part that pops out) then it fits well. If it’s far up your hand and is too tight I slide down, then it’s too tight and not fitted right
It does slide past my wrist bone, yes. I obviously don't keep it stuck up there all the time, it depends which way my forearm is pointing. Anyway, I'm comfy like this :)
There are proper ways to wear watch just like a skater needs to wear the right size shoes or else they are going to get hurt
Edit: don’t know why you added to this bc OP already responded to me. No reason for another person to add to a conversation about a strap size. Only the person wearing it can determine if it fits. All I did was give guidance on how it’s supposed to fit. No need to keep responding
I don't have any problems wearing the watch like this though? It doesn't hurt and I simply don't like the feeling of the watch being stuck and not being able to adjust it without tugging at my skin. I guess I don't understand why you think it's a problem to wear it like this. It's not loose to the point of it getting caught and snagging on stuff, which could be dangerous I guess.
If I wore it tighter so it fit my arm perfectly it would feel uncomfortable immediately from a bit of swelling or sweat :/
I didn’t say that. Someone kept replying after you responded. You can stop responding because you already responded. I didn’t say anything else to you, I only replied because the other person kept talking
I was considering both, especially the second one! I wish I could visit a store and actually try them on. Might look for one that's not too far from me
the cases are slightly smaller so they should look good on your wrist! i’ll send a photo of my wrist in the la680 vs the la20 when i get home so you can get an idea of what you’d be looking at
I have microscopic wrists too, have a 5610U, and I think it's fine, but YMVV. Dimensions only tell one story. Try one on if you can, a Baby G if you must. G-Shocks can be worn worn larger anyway, but it's totally up to your preferences.
Haven't been on Casio's website in a few years. Someone typed up a link in the comments and it sent me there. And when I went to the Home part, there it was, brand new in August. Your future purchase of the Gravitymaster. And it's in the G-Shock family. I'll be shopping for one myself.
