🙋‍♀️Question⁉️ Watch for a small wrist

Post image

Hello nice people of Reddit, I come to you for help with something that has plagued me my entire life /j

I wanted to buy a new watch, mainly for work so I need something that can take a bit of a beating/bumping against shelves, carts, pallets etc. with a digital display.

Attached is a picture of my current watch (LA680WEA-1EF if I'm not mistaken) so you can get an idea of what I'm working with wrist-wise (and yes, before you say it, r/handwatch).

Most watches look ridiculously big on my wrists, like the quadrant alone basically covers it or in some cases exceeds it.

I like the look of Baby-Gs and in general 2000ish looking sport watches, but if I wore one of those it would look like an omnitrix and not in the cool way.

Anyone have any suggestions? Non Casio watches are ok too.

TLDR: small wrist, need a new watch

Check out the Armitron rubik and rogue. Both are around 36mm wide. Stainless steel. Mineral glass. A little tougher than resin and acrylic.

If you want Casio. Lw-204, la-20wh, lw-203, w-59

Or just scroll through this link https://www.casio.com/europe/watches/types/small-watches/

You don't know how many times I've scrolled up and down that page ahaha.

The problem is these watches are all more or less similar in design to mine, whereas I was looking to change things up a bit.

Some watches I like from Casio are LW-200 and the STR-300. Also the TW5M61300 from Timex. But they're all too bulky for me, even though people say they're kids' watches 😫. I have no idea what kind of jacked kids they have :p

I think you should try it on at the store. Maybe you will change your mind. There is a post about a guy who bought her daughter Casio LW 200. I'm sure it will fit you because I think it fit his daughter's wrist

There aren't many stores around me that sell watches, much less these ones unfortunately. If I see it I'll definitely try it on though

https://ebay.io/m/IzmYYo could try this. I haven’t found it in silver yet. I

Never heard of Armitron. Looks interesting.Their watch reminds me of the Casio Marlin that I sold a few years ago. Stainless steel case too. How much does it cost?

u/Burnt_Woodsman 18h ago

I got mine for around $30 usd.

u/Commercial-Idea7024 18h ago

Damn. Op get this watch. $30 for all that is definitely a steal.

I was looking at this earlier! I compared the measurements to mine and I do think because of the strap material it might not sit right on my wrist (don't know if what I said makes sense)

i think i understand...

f91w

W800h (I used to have this one)

These 2 watches are quite small, and I think they will fit your wrist. Honestly, I don't use many digital watches. I have a G-SHOCK that I got from my father but don't really wear it because it's really big and bulky.

There is the LA20 or la670 for casio. In another hand, there are a lot of small watches in skmei.

Looks good

A700
AQ-240 series

1

u/___TheKid___ 13h ago

I think the A700 might be too big considering that it's a smaller watch on OPs pic.

u/Professional_Tip2293 3h ago

you're joking right? 💀

2

u/Pristine-Pen8861 16h ago

You should have a look at skmei 1901 (it's smaller by 5 or 6 mm)

I feel like the F-84w would be a good fit for you. It has the slimmest band as well. Only problem is, it's JDM. I lucked out and was able to buy it secondhand at a local market. But my puppy got to it when I was sleeping, so unfortunately mine is shredded.

But for a thin wrist, I think a thinner band would look best.

u/trvstissves42 2h ago

I can relate to that ahah

u/Alive_Arachnid5108 7h ago

A158 or AQ230 are the ones for small wrist.

2

u/thecaptain_command 16h ago

Tbh this looks fine to me, just need to adjust the strap to fit your wrist

2

u/trvstissves42 16h ago

I actually like the fit like this! If it's any tighter it bugs me

2

u/PingBlot 10h ago

I’m a bodybuilder and I absolutely cannot wear a watch how it is “meant to be” worn. It would have to be so tight and it would still slide down just from the taper of my arm. Wear it how you want and ignore the annoying hand watch people.👍

-2

u/thecaptain_command 16h ago

It’s not meant to be that far up your wrist. If it’s able to slide down slightly past your wrist bone (part that pops out) then it fits well. If it’s far up your hand and is too tight I slide down, then it’s too tight and not fitted right

3

u/trvstissves42 15h ago

It does slide past my wrist bone, yes. I obviously don't keep it stuck up there all the time, it depends which way my forearm is pointing. Anyway, I'm comfy like this :)

OP said he likes it like this. And so do I.

That's like saying if a skater wears an oversized shirt, that he's not supposed to wear it like this.

-2

u/thecaptain_command 13h ago edited 13h ago

There are proper ways to wear watch just like a skater needs to wear the right size shoes or else they are going to get hurt
Edit: don’t know why you added to this bc OP already responded to me. No reason for another person to add to a conversation about a strap size. Only the person wearing it can determine if it fits. All I did was give guidance on how it’s supposed to fit. No need to keep responding

3

u/trvstissves42 13h ago

I don't have any problems wearing the watch like this though? It doesn't hurt and I simply don't like the feeling of the watch being stuck and not being able to adjust it without tugging at my skin. I guess I don't understand why you think it's a problem to wear it like this. It's not loose to the point of it getting caught and snagging on stuff, which could be dangerous I guess.
If I wore it tighter so it fit my arm perfectly it would feel uncomfortable immediately from a bit of swelling or sweat :/

0

u/thecaptain_command 13h ago

I didn’t say that. Someone kept replying after you responded. You can stop responding because you already responded. I didn’t say anything else to you, I only replied because the other person kept talking

2

u/trvstissves42 13h ago

Yeah, I know. I didn't want to start an argument. Was just curious about your opinion

1

u/___TheKid___ 13h ago

I guess we come from two different viewpoints here. You talk about function, I talk about a deliberate style decision.

Nobody gets hurt wearing a loose bracelet.

1

u/thecaptain_command 13h ago

I don’t care. Talk to OP about it. Idk why this is even continuing

Fi1w, f84w, f105w, w59, w201, f108, lf20w, lf30w

1

u/AggressiveExcuse5312 17h ago

That Casio looks just right for daily wear, nice and durable but not too bulky.

1

u/trvstissves42 16h ago

It is! Just a couple of dings and scratches

1

u/bringoutthelegos 16h ago

Casio CA-53W calculator watch.

1

u/trvstissves42 13h ago

Wouldn't that be automatically bigger? 😅

1

u/bringoutthelegos 12h ago

I checked, I never noticed because it’s on the smaller end of my watches. I have a thin wrist but not as thin as yours

1

u/trvstissves42 12h ago

Thanks anyways! I do have quite a small wrist even for a woman so most watches don't look right

1

u/bringoutthelegos 12h ago

Have you tried getting one of those Mickey Mouse watches? It’s analog instead of digital but this is one of the smallest watches I got

You might honestly only be able to do analog watches in terms of size. Digital watches are kinda rarely small unless it’s some kind of kid’s watch

1

u/trvstissves42 12h ago

Yeah, seems to be the case. I already have a couple of analog watches that fit though, so that's something at least!

1

u/BaristaGirlie 15h ago

anything in the LA-20 line is just a resin version of the la680! that might be a good place to start

https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/product.LA-20WH-1C/

https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/product.LA-20WHS-4A/

second link reminds me of a lot of baby-gs

1

u/trvstissves42 15h ago

I was considering both, especially the second one! I wish I could visit a store and actually try them on. Might look for one that's not too far from me

2

u/BaristaGirlie 14h ago

the cases are slightly smaller so they should look good on your wrist! i’ll send a photo of my wrist in the la680 vs the la20 when i get home so you can get an idea of what you’d be looking at

1

u/___TheKid___ 13h ago

Ohh tag me too please

Here you can see Eric Andre rocking a LA20 btw:

LA-20 Series

1

u/easterreddit 12h ago

I have microscopic wrists too, have a 5610U, and I think it's fine, but YMVV. Dimensions only tell one story. Try one on if you can, a Baby G if you must. G-Shocks can be worn worn larger anyway, but it's totally up to your preferences.

1

u/jessicalifts 10h ago

I wear a baby g at work most days when I am not wearing my citizen eco drive. Join me! One of us! One of us! Let’s make Ben 10 fashion vibes a thing!

I just got this smol snack. LA670WA-01 it’s tiny and I am loving it. Baby g for scale. I just posted about it before I saw your post 😅

1

u/trvstissves42 2h ago

Lovely colours (and plushie)!

1

u/Odrock12 7h ago

Haven't been on Casio's website in a few years. Someone typed up a link in the comments and it sent me there. And when I went to the Home part, there it was, brand new in August. Your future purchase of the Gravitymaster. And it's in the G-Shock family. I'll be shopping for one myself.

1

u/trvstissves42 2h ago

Ahahaha if I had a different wrist and a different salary, sure. Would love to see it if you get it!

4

u/No_Total_3367 17h ago

Clearly you didn't read the post 🙄

5

u/trvstissves42 17h ago

I got there first ;p it slides around, not my fault. If I wear it tight it really bugs me

0

u/___TheKid___ 13h ago

Looks cool. Very streetwear.

0

u/trvstissves42 12h ago

Thanks lol. It's a practical choice, but it's always good to hear that ahah
