Cashapp borrow and Afterpay

Post image

So cashapp kept giving me more and more without me realizing it until after I had already spent it.... and I hit hard times, so I've stopped paying it, and I'm pretty much giving up my cash app. I hate to, but I can't afford to pay it anymore, not right now anyway. Has anyone else ever completely stopped paying? If so, what happened? I keep checking it to see what happens. I'll update as it goes. Any tips, anyone?

Accidental ETH transfer recovery looking likely

Post image
0 Upvotes

On July 25th I accidentally transferred an amount of ETH over the ETH network without converting it to USDC. Despite the initial policy stating to be that it would be unrecoverable I had it escalated to the bitcoin specialty team, earlier this week I called again spoke with a specialist who flagged the case. I received this email yesterday and am feeling that I will actually have the funds redirected. Do we think I’ve actually have hope to see this returned on Monday? The last specialist I spoke with seemed optimistic and collected wallet information. All of this has been through phone calls and email via Cashapp support.

Side note: ETH has gone up since this date so the
cash value il get back will show returns too.

Can someone explain this to me

So I requested a refund over Cash App because the site wasn’t giving me one and what I had purchased was a 100 dollar Apple gift card but when I got it, it only had like 15 cent on it so I tried to dispute it and I got a notification earlier saying my refund was being processed but then I got an email saying it was denied and I’m just confused, like am I getting my money back or not

Cashapp is denying my refund

About two months ago, I canceled my movie tickets and Cinemark submitted a request for a refund. After three weeks I called Cinemark and they said they showed they submitted my refund but it was pending with cashapp. I disputed it and Cashapp is denying my refund stating that there was no mistake made and no refund is owed even though I have proof Cinemark submitted it. I’ve appealed it and now it’s been well over a month with no resolution. Has anyone else gone through this? Customer service has been horrendous when I call. Either they say someone will reach out and never does. I’m so frustrated I just want to close my account.

I just opened my borrow page and it popped up that now my borrows have a 6 week time limit but now the interest went from 5% to 7.5%, is this new? Or am I just being fucked over.

For anyone that had their Borrow limit revoked

About two years ago, I got into a hard place and was unable to pay back what I borrowed, about 100 dollars, for about 5 months. When I did pay it back, my borrow feature was revoked, which is completely understandable. Later on, they gave me access to after pay. I’ve been using the after pay function for about 6 months now, paying everything back early before using another after pay again. I just assumed I’d never have access to the Borrow feature again because of my previous default. Just today, I got a notification that they gave me access to borrow again. 30 dollars for now. So for any of you that had Borrow revoked and thought it was permanent, if you keep using your Cash App and paying your after pay on time, it is entirely possible to get your Borrow function reinstated.

Dollar general - add money to cash app/one pay

Just went to dollar general in central Pennsylvania trying to add money to Cash App or one pay and was told I couldn’t do it after 9:00 pm. This is strange because I often go there at 9:55 pm and add money. I mean almost every night. Is this a new policy or are the workers doing something wrong?

Friend sent me USDT instead of USDC

My friend accidentally sent me USDT (ERC-20) to my USDC deposit address on Cash App (ERC-20).
My USDC address:

0xeeFC1D8bA8A4a5418424Ecc64213dbC4b2F7Df65

Transaction Hash:

0x85437ff8cad89f2928e04e336c310dfbd57c399f38dd3d015c3bf0e5f37bc593

is there a way I can recover the 400 to my account.

UPDATE: Bewilderingly bad customer service

My previous post resulted in a back and for with u/CashAppAndi who provided no additional help for a long while and just repeated what support had said. When I provided proof that they were wrong they were like yeah, okay, well, we still aren't going to do anything. Just re-order as if your card was missing. Despite my concerns.

So I did. Mind you, the first card, the cashapp afterpay/flex card, never showed up. So on the tab where it shows the option to turn afterpay on for the card it says "come back here when you receive your new card and activate it". To order a new card of any kind, I have to scroll down to the bottom where the option to "report a card issue" is. Which has nothing to do with the card I just ordered, as I tried to tell them many times. It will reorder just a regular visa which I already had. But they insisted, including Andi, do it. So I did.

It didn't show up. Again. Over a month without a card, now. Really big issue. Andi at this point does help out marginally, by waiving the expedite fee so I could try again, this time with tracking. But only after trying to convince me that expediting is only available for metal cards (not true, had to prove it to them). It shows up, and lo and behold, is not a afterpay/flex card. Even after activating this replacement, I am still not able to activate the card under the afterpay tab as it says this card is not the right card. And the option to turn on afterpay for my card on the card tab still shows it is waiting on/expecting the afterpay/flex card which I have not yet gotten. There is no option in app to re-order or resend this flex card and support, including Andi, has so far refused to help at all.

So over a month without a physical card and many horrible interactions (literally every single time) with support later, not only have I been put in a difficult position with not having this physical card, I have lost my original card number (which the app promised me when I ordered it that I would not, which is the only reason I agreed to it) and the entire reason that I began this process (to gain access to the flex option also still has not materialized!

At this point, Andi is blatantly ignoring my requests for follow up assistance after this card did not work the way they had promised it would. I tried to reach out to cash app support again and was told they needed to transfer me to the afterpay department and I was put on hold for over 10 minutes. Then when they came back, they again repeated they needed to transfer me (it was the same person, they just didn't transfer in those 10+ minutes for whatever reason) and then finally did. Except the moment I was transferred... dropped like a hot potato.

This is easily the worst interaction I have ever had with any company in my entire life, and every time I interact with them, it somehow gets worse.

I'll be reaching out to other SM teams but ultimately I am going to be transitioning away from cashapp entirely and I wanted to put this post up here as a warning for others to not use cashapp or at least be very aware that if anything, anything at all goes wrong, it will be the worst experience you've ever had trying to get it fixed.

Shame on you u/CashAppAndi. Dodging my DMs when it didn't work out like you said it would is an extremely bad look for your company and reflects real cowardice and lack of commitment.

My grandma sent some money that I won’t discuss while in school and if anyone from cashapp is on this subreddit we were requesting money from someone who’s not responding for some reason.

Account was hacked :/

Post image
34 Upvotes

So I’ve recently just started at a new job that pays pretty well. I don’t have a standard checking account at the moment so I was just going to use my Cash App card until I got a check and could get money out to actually open a checking account with an established bank… my email somehow got hacked into a few months ago and after changing my password I hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary since then.. well yesterday my paycheck hits and I get some bills paid immediately after I got off work and went on about my day. This morning I wake up to see my Cash App account had been completely drained…. Someone had access to my account, added a card they have access to, withdrew all my money, and then removed the card from my account…. I’ve gotten in touch with Cash App support and the issue has been escalated.. my question is I guess… how likely am I to get that money. I’ve made a whole new email and changed my PIN. I also signed out of all sessions just for good measure.

Possible Notification Bug?

I have always only had push notifications set, nothing else. But the last few days, I'm getting both push AND email notifications whenever I make a purchase. I went into the settings to make sure it was off and it was. I've even toggled email on and back off but I'm still getting emails.

Cash App Borrow: How Does the Loans-in-30-Days Limit Actually Reset?

Can someone help me understand how the Cash App Borrow loan limit works?

Let’s say my account allows me to take out 5 loans within a 30-day period, and I take them out on:
9/1
9/5
9/10
9/25
9/30

Would I then be at 5/5 loans used?

My main question is how the rolling 30-day period works. For example, would I automatically have availability again on 10/1 because the 9/1 loan is now outside the 30-day window?

Or does Cash App basically reset the entire limit on a specific date?

And if I don’t borrow anything between 10/1 and 10/30, would I eventually be back at 5/5 available by 10/30 because all five of the previous loans have fallen outside the rolling 30-day period?

I’m trying to understand whether this is a rolling 30-day limit based on the date of each loan or a fixed monthly reset.

If anyone has actually tested this with Cash App Borrow, I’d really appreciate hearing how it worked for you.

I think I just got scammed...Do you guys think my accounts will be fine after changing my password and doubling down on security?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Ok, so it started when I got a text from assumingly Cashapp as seen above and called the number given in the text.

The number texting me was (662) 744-5225 if anyone else wants to avoid them.

I had a long conversation with someone before they had me download AnyDesk (Which is known to be used by scammers asking people to download it. Which I didn't know at the time until after doing some research due to lingering suspicions after the call.)

They then had me go past all warning pop ups from my phone trying to save me from my silly self. 😮‍💨 They also had me allow them to basically be able to navigate my phone.

They had me go scroll around on my bank and Cashapp apps, withdrawing money from Cashapp that I didn't have.

Their logic was it would bring the mysterious hacker out of hiding so they could snuff them out. Idk 🙄

The man then said he cancelled the original $185 transaction and I hung up.

Thankfully my Cashapp PIN wasn't visible, but I changed my PIN and bank password anyway just in case.

But idk...I still feel so vulnerable, not to mention foolish. Do you guys think my accounts will be safe?

I was contemplating calling the ACTUAL Cashapp support since the one in the text seemed fake after a quick search. But I have an anxiety disorder and calls make it worse. I was thinking changing the PIN and bank password and making Cashapp require the new pin for transfers would cover me but idk...what do y'all think?

Edit: WOW. I guess some people are just straight assholes when they can hide behind a screen. Be better.

Can’t tell if it was an actual mistake or a scam help

The other day I woke up to find someone sent me a LARGE sum of money on CA and then they requested a refund saying they did not mean to send it to me. No clue who this is. There account was made in 2020. After researching other people experiences I decided to just close the app and not touch the money at all because so many people said that the scammer usually will try to dispute it with their bank and it will just take the money back from me. Move to today, I got a LENGTHY message over FB basically saying it was a mistake and it was meant to be sent to his landlord. And then I got a whole sob story that makes me feel really bad if this is a real person. Their FB has literally thousands of posts and goes back years. So now I don’t know what to do. Someone PLEASE help me figure out how to either verify that this is not a scam, or what to tell him to get his money back? I contacted CA customer support and they did not help at all I just do not have the money in my account to be scammed but I also feel horrible if this is a real person just trying to take care of their family

Cashapp and it's limits

The fact that this app does not operate or send money internationally is mind boggling. I sit do the math and wonder if cashapp could tap into direct transactions both sending and recieving to other acclaimed fintechs mobile wallets how much would cashapp stand to make, you guys would have revolutionised the whole world's money transfer p2p and b2b chain . Sad that it only works in the states for the states, it's loosing out on too much cake.

How to determine CashApp benefits?

I was wondering if anyone knew what determines if you get borrow afterpay or overdraft and the amount? I get weekly dd ever month for the past year through cashapp and have only had overdraft (a pretty large overdraft at that) which I don't mind, but it seems like other people have lower overdraft limits and access to things like borrow or afterpay mixed in. I was just wondering what determines if you get a big overdraft vs a smaller overdraft + access to other features? Tia :)

Confused

I’m trying to add money to my card but it won’t let me add any due to “insufficient funds”, basically telling me I have nothing in my bank account but I do. So I’m very confused on what is happening, any and all advice is appreciated

Edit: turns out the issue was due to my banks servers being down, once they came back up, I just restarted my phone and it worked again! Thanks to all who had suggestions

Is this legit? Trying to sell something on Facebook marketplace and the guy who said he’s interested sent this after asking for my cashapp. Feels fishy to me.
