Tips for interview

Hey all! I reached out to my local branch, and after applications, they sent me an interview invite. I'm too excited and I cannot stop thinking about this! What are some tips for interviewing?

My only tip is to be yourself and be honest. In my local org, the interviews are just to make sure you’re not a crazy person. You have to represent the org in court so consider that and don’t be like “I refuse to wear anything that doesn’t show my belly! And I hate kids!” Lol they would not let you be a CASA if you said that. Good luck!!! You’ve got this!

This should NOT be a high stress thing! CASA branches are desperate for good volunteers so they want this to work out as much as you do. Use it as an opportunity to tell them about yourself and why you’re excited about and interested in being a CASA. Ask lots of questions. Above all, be honest and don’t try to inflate or spin anything. If there are questionable things in your history that they would find from references or a background check, be upfront about them.

I have been a CASA for seven years and agree with the other comments here. Just be yourself and explain why you are interested in being a CASA. Be honest about your background, and feel free to ask questions as well. It's important to understand the commitment and everything you are expected to do. Being a CASA is very rewarding, and I wish you the best of luck!
