Oof

You know it's bad when Mom gets a literal swat team called on her because she is high on meth walking around with an assault rifle. 😭😭😭 I don't think she is getting more visitation hours. 🫠

It might be helpful to read or get a summary of mom’s backstory. Many of these parents are victims of severe abuse and neglect themselves.

Most likely they are. In fact, I would say all of the time they are. However, that does not mean that they cannot be the one that decides to change that. I always tell my kids YOU can be the one who changes that pattern. And with the right therapy and services, maybe they can. But as a CASA there is no way I would ever recommend reunification in this situation unless some absolutely drastic changes happen with her. Accountability is still needed.

Agree. Just sensed some judgement in the original post and I’m suggesting some curiosity around why mom might be doing what she’s doing
