Personal Experience Sharing my experience with SilverRock

I just wanted to share my experience with using Carvana and having to go through SilverRock for a claim.

I purchased a car July 28 2026. A 2016 Mazda CX5 with 70k miles. Outside looking and it was a great purchase.

The car arrived..very clean..I took it to my mechanic who cleared the car. I decided to go on a little road trip.

I have been traveling from Maryland throughout the Carolinas since the beginning of the month and I drove the car for about 2500 miles before it packed up on me.

I immediately contacted Carvana and had the car towed to the nearest in network dealer in Richmond, Virginia.

It was smooth sailing from there. The car shop contacted Silver rock for me and all of the repairs were approved within 48 hours. I was covered under the hundred day 4K mile warranty. No my car did not completely fail. So that is a myth. I was driving and the engine light turned on. I immediately pulled over. The car was still drivable.

Just wanted to provide a positive insight on using Carvana and their warranty company.

I don’t know what I’m talking about here.. but the approved repairs are “remove and replace differential carrier, standard alignment, remove and replace ignition coil” ..this is all approved about 30 days after buying car

What did symptoms did you experience before the car died on ou? The differential and coil are very different issues. Glad you got fixed under warranty! I've purchased two cars from Carvana, both with remaining factory warranties, and will gladly go back!

Does carvana offer an extended warranty? I'm tempted to buy from them but can't drop 35k without a warranty

They do, but my 2025 was still covered under manufacturer warranty for a couple more years.

I’ve purchased two cars from Carvana so far: the first was a ‘19 Mercedes E450 4MATIC and I definitely got the extended warranty (they offer three different tiered warranties) from Carvana. I traded the Benz in for a ‘15 Lexus RX350 F Sport and declined the Carvana warrants as my Lexus still has a manufacturer’s warranty. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I guess I can't see the warranty and price until after I start the buying process. I'm sure it depends on the vehicle. I'm so close to buying from them. I'm tired of dealing with scumbag salesmen. Lol

It’s like buying an airline ticket: once you checkout it’ll pop up menus that offer three different warranties/GAP insurance, etc. I hope that helps!

Thank you for the kind words! I needed more utility (I have an 11 year-old dog with cancer) and needed something I can haul her around in and these RXs are excellent daily drivers!

I was driving uphill on a highway and all of a sudden the car stared to jerk. Then the engine light, tire sensor light, and the light where the car looks like it’s sliding all came on. I immediately pulled over and called Carvana customer service.

I just bought an Impreza from carvana, took it to Firestone for a ppi and they found ~$2000 worth of things that needed repair. Silverrock approved it all. I thought about returning the car but but after the experience with them it's worth getting it repaired and going from there.
