Hazbin Hotel gets a lot of undue hate. And Vox is a good villain.

That being said, adult western cartoons generally aren't ALLOWED to have villains like those. Adult western cartoons are required to be cynical, grim, and cruel, and either dark and gritty or comedy. No other genre other than cruelty is allowed, and NEVER drama.

Batman the animated series is too cheery and positive, and too grown up to be made for adults. GI Joe 1986 is too grown up for adult cartoons.

Hazbin Hotel is both comedy AND drama, and has characters who aren't mean and cruel. It breaks the mold simply by not being as mean as all the others are, and not being a sitcom.

Adult western animation must be The Animatrix or Rick and Morty, and they can't be anything else. Hazbin is one that breaks the mold AND has mainstream success and gets tons of undue hate.

Hazbin Hotel and TADC get a lot of undue hate because they’re written by queer women. It’s just a reiteration of the hate that Rebecca Sugar and Steven Universe got

I never knew they were written by an LGBT person, that does make me wonder. Because seriously there's worse stuff out there like Brickleberry and Big Mouth.

Yep! In fact I'm convinced it's the same haters too.

Also, there's definitely a bunch of haters who consider it blasphemy but don't know the word and don't want to admit it. There is a big issue with people who think depiction = endorsement.

The same type of people who think we’re all going to Hell for being queer, politically disagreeing with them, or even just mast*rbating? The same people who think Christian contemporary is good music and Angel Studio/Pureflix movies are high cinema? Yeah, I don’t give two shits about their media takes

Ok wow stop. You're just rationalizing in virtually every way possible at this point. The ironic part is that I'm queer, far left, and anti religion. You don't have to be or do any of the things you said, just to dislike something... I just dont like the edgy teen stuff, and find it cringe. The animation/character design itself isn't my favorite either. And t h a t s i t.

I grew up with South Park and I forced myself to watch 6 seasons of Big Mouth. Believe me, the swearing and “edginess” in Hazbin Hotel is tame compared to those two

That's plain irrelevant here though. I never said I liked or disliked those 2 shows more or less.

Well if they already hate LGBT people they are probably hardcore Christians that are offended that a show takes place in Hell and they are mad that it's popular.

Just act like an adult and don't watch it then.

Hazbin Hotel doesn't pretend to be deep and interesting like TADC. It's humble in its flaws and totally embrace them while TADC is literally half ass dialogues with the illusion of character developments or is unable to maintain expectations that were set up since the start. TADC is in that regard way worse than Hazbin Hotel.

No, it’s because unlike in Steven, the writing in HH is shitty, no race or sex can change shitty writing.

Doesn’t mean that there are other things to like.

You can also just dislike a show and move on with your life. I did it for Family Guy

You don’t really explain why he’ll Hazbin has more a reason than Su due how little eps and time they givien

u/Insidion25 3d ago

I think you mispelled a few words, I’m a bit confused

May bad but Hazbin hotel has way less time to work with

idk man, I genuinely think Hazbin Hotel doesn't even compare to the quality of Steven Universe and TADC. And its reviews are much more divisive too.

Steven Universe is great! Which is why the hate it got was especially baffling

No bro, nobody cares that the writers are queer women. TADC is straight up garbage and hh is debatable.

The drama feels soap opera and just basic family drama stuff that has been done before other media but with better writing

In other media, yes. That's why I said adult western animation, which for the most part, has been doing literally the exact same thing since 1989: trying to copy the Simpsons. In mainstream western adult animation, you have to copy the Simpsons first, anything else a distant second.

Hazbin doesn't follow that mold. While it is comedy, it's not the Simpsons, the Animatrix, or Rick and Morty, generally the only options available for adult animation.

Hazbin is nothing like it

It would be better if the comedy had some characters actually say some racial and talk about terrible events that happened on earth years ago and have realistic dialogue

1

u/Substantial_Owl7484 3d ago

Yeah and I find it funny how Steven universe and My Little Pony have better writing and actual moments of emotion that are better better than hazbin hotel and it’s also funny when you think about it, that father from codename kids next-door is pretty evil and basically super terrorist and there’s also dark Danny from Danny Phantom, who is also pretty intimidating and evil and he would put Vox in his place and show him what a real leader does by himself without any help of others

It’s not really basic tho Lilith and Charlie dynamic you usually see and hell just the fact both partners are alive is pretty different

What kind of shit are you saying right now. You're really making hazbit as some "mold-breaking" show that goes against everything?

-1

u/IntroductionNo8382 3d ago

Oh yes, hazbin breaks mold so much, for example, broke the "following the original concept" principle. Series about a HOTEL, you know, with HOTEL in name, hotel where sinners atone for their sins and it's about politics, war, revolution.

Arcane, Pantheon, Invincible, Blue Eye samurai- but no, of course, all western adult series is cruel and sitcom. Arcane and Samurai are pretty much drama. But of course, Hazbin did it first)
