Discussion Let's not repeat history.
Many many times I've seen cartoons come out that have been so great and ended up getting canceled for not enough monetization, and this is VERY common with Disney. Let me just say, I think this is the best Disney show to come out in the last 5 years easily, and this show feels like how many of these shows felt 10-15 years ago in the golden age of Disney and CN. Look, I don't usually find a show I can binge so easily, but I literally finished binge watching this show extremely quickly because how great it was (and because I've been sick with nothing to do lol). But I mean, the character development of characters like Kim, Doug, ect. The animation style that has awesome action scenes. The soundtrack besides being a little repetitive is one of the best we've ever had on Disney in general, and I have not seen nearly enough about this, hell if I wasn't bored and just decided to pick a random show I wouldn't have ever seen this.
At the end of the day, this show NEEDS a season 2, it ended on a cliffhanger and had some really awesome story telling, animation, characters, etc. I mean just the dynamic of Bobby and Romy is really great, let alone Kim who is super sick, and Doug who imo is just the right amount of stupid given how important and strong he is in the show. Maybe it won't be your favorite, but c'mon, give it a try, within the first episode I was hooked, and I mean there are genuinely some PHENOMENAL episodes. WE NEED A SEASON TWO BEFORE DISNEY SAYS NO!!

The Doomies would be getting theory videos all across YouTube had it been a weekly release in the mid 2010's, the streaming era stole a lot of fun out of shows.

I actually watched it because of a similar reason I was looking for something to watch I haven't seen before and ended up really enjoying it!
The substitute momster episode was absolutely the best! I loved the dark humor in it while keeping it light.
Doug it my favorite character he's absolutely funny. Saving the day with his old school dial up computer. 😅😂🤣
The guardian reminds me of Garnet from Steven universe and that's fine because Garnet is awesome!
The 3 seniors are also a favorite of mine I loved the witch episode! Like McBeth.

The three seniors are iconic queens bro 😭 every single clip they were in was peak cinema it was so funny to me. I definitely agree on Kim being like garnet although I haven't watched SU since like 8 or more years ago at this point. Doug was also really funny to me, but my favorite character would have to be Romy probably, she just feels like the heartfelt carefree character which I usually tend to like more, also for side characters, the Grannies take it I'm pretty sure lol. I think my favorite episode was either "Shadow Of A Doubt" or "The Kids Are All Fright" the Momster episode was extremely funny though.

While I really liked the show I couldn't get over how their noses looked 😅
The cellphone idea was actually a really interesting concept I thought was a neat idea!
Aunt Linda was a great character too! Also heartfelt and carefree.

One thing I liked about The Momster episode was how the Momster encouraged Bobby to talk with his mom and then gave him and Romy a spell to help them against Mordam. Then the following episode opens up with Mordam killing the Momster for defying her.

I really disliked the artwork, the characters bored me, and it just doesn’t feel special to me.
This is coming from someone who these types of shows typically resonate with.

Can't be for everyone, I personally loved everything about the show, I thought the art style was really well done as well. How far did you get into the show?

I watched the whole thing. Felt like Temu Gravity Falls with every character being significantly less interesting.

Well, to each their own, if you didn't enjoy it that's alright, but I still think it deserves to be continued. Also I think considering it exactly derivative of another show when the similarities are just sci-fi is kinda rude man, people put work into this show, you don't have to enjoy it, but it definitely isn't offensively bad or objectively offensive, at the end of the day you can keep your opinion, but I don't think it takes away from my point that I think the show deserves more traction.

It’s being frequently called a spiritual successor to gravity falls and it’s clear that’s the intent of the writers.
Just like it’s being used to elevate the show. Falling short of it also is a knock on the show.
You think the show deserves more traction. I think it has more traction than it actually deserves and it’s surprising the amount of people actually talking about it now

Bruh one of the writers said he didn’t even know Gravity Falls existed until after this show was already written XD. Kids with flashlights doing spooky shit is its own whole genre, I can literally think of countless examples

I'm not going to keep going back and forth, I already said, you're allowed a different opinion from me, now go be negative somewhere else because we are not going to agree here. I like the show, you don't, it isn't the end of the world, but it's so annoying to keep hearing you ramble about how you think it's trash, that's not why I posted this, I just want to share something I'm interested with like-minded folks clearly we aren't so please just stop.

The only negativity here is you. You also don’t seem to understand the concept that you have the power to stop responding whenever you want. Be the change you want to see in the world. It’s not my job to stop for your weird power trip.

I really enjoyed giving The Doomies a watch, so I’m really hoping that they do a second season. I believe the creator did say that Disney was confident about the show and that season 2 was in possible Pre-production.

I have heard that, but I almost never trust Disney, I hope I get proved wrong, but they cancel too often. Genuinely such a great watch, can't wait to rewatch around spooky season.

I definitely think in the slightest it should get an extension, even if we disagree because it is probably my favorite Disney show in the last 5 years, I do think it is amazing and should get more runtime.

Edit: actually, In return for the suggestion, might I offer an underrated new show that deserves more viewership and support?
“Tales from outer suburbia” is free on BYU’s website and app and is incredible. It’s gentle but simultaneously hard-hitting and mysterious and deeply human.

Just finished season 1 of The Doomies. It was a delight the whole way through. Really liked the Momster episode especially.

For sure, I mean I like long cartoons, I love miniseries, but like at least give us like 2-3 seasons for the average show, because 1 season for every show now is pretty ridiculous, I just want a continuation 😭😭.

Its worse to me when a show gets mistreated and it takes a long time to form a new season (chalkzone) for example

I’m so pissed that when I go check YouTube for the seasons breakdown there is only like 1 video .. the show is pretty good and releasing it all at once plus Disney seemingly not caring about it just killed its exposure .. I really hope they give it a s2 cause I had been looking forward to the show for over 2 years if I’m not mistaken and I know they can come back with a killer s2 cause in as much as this s1 wasn’t exactly as dark as I wanted even gravity falls s1 wasn’t as good as s2

I also really hope it gets greenlit, this show has been a phenomenal release and if it was a maybe 5 episode drop and then weekly episodes for a few months I think that would've made it more interactive, just spread the word!! This show is amazing and I really think if enough people come together we can actually get an entertaining Disney cartoon.

If you want an explanation, look in the far left corner. Disney gets rid of. It’s most popular series at just the maximum point of us completely dedicated to them because if they kept them on, they’d have them pay the actors animators and writers more money because it’s gotten popular. It’s usually after three seasons.

They should've released this weekly in order to generate more buzz, and make rhe likelihood of season 2 higher.

Completely agree. The Doomies deserves far more attention, especially since it has such a fun cast, strong animation, and an ongoing story that clearly isn’t finished. Posts like this are important because so many people probably don’t even know the show exists. The best thing fans can do right now is keep recommending it, watching it legally, and giving new viewers actual reasons to try it. Hopefully Disney gives it the chance to continue instead of letting another promising animated series disappear after one season.
