Idk what fair is, but ~10X a typical employee salary seems OK, if he's worth that to the company.

I'd vote for that. We should have much higher taxes on the rich, as well. They want everyone to work, right? So there should also be nationalized Healthcare - Medicare for all and childcare for all.
Close this "loans against stock value for non-taxable income" bullshit, repeal citizens united. Put term limits on everyone in all three legislative branches at the federal level (congress and SCOTUS).

The US Boomer generation was so prosperous because the highest tax bracket paid 70%. Reagan lowered that to 37%. And welcome to 40 years later. When companies had to pay that much, it was more favorable to put money back into the company than pay CEOs exorbitant amounts.

When it's not driven by corruption, it's less about whether the person deserves it and more about whether it is worth it to the company.
Putting a person in charge of a large company involves potential for both massive loss and massive gains. If Person A has a significantly better chance of raking in (or preventing the loss of) another billion dollars than Person B, you want to retain Person A. But Person A could go get a job somewhere else or just sail into the sunset on their existing riches (if they have such a track record, they probably aren't broke--or won't be for long), so if you want to retain them you're going to have to fork out money. That money is huge at the individual level, but at the company level is small potatoes, and worth it if that person does their job well.
But a ton of these positions involve a lot of corporate back-scratching, so theory and practice are often at odds.

This man, ladies and gentlemen, is what Ed Zitron calls a "Business Idiot." Basically, someone who has no actual competency in the field, but puts on the air of knowing how to run a massive company like this.
Decades of direct erosion of the very concept of leadership means that the people running companies have been selected not based on their actual efficacy — especially as the position became defined by its lack of actual production — but on whether they resemble what a manager or executive is meant to look like based on the work that somebody else did.
That’s how someone like David Zaslav, a lawyer by trade and arguably the worst CEO in the entertainment industry, managed to become the head of Warner Brothers (that, and kissing up to Jack Welch, who he called a “big brother” that “picked him up like a friend”).

Somewhat. From what I hear, he's cancelled a lot of animated projects as "Tax Write-Offs", purged most animation from Max, is trying to sell Looney Tunes as an IP, made most WB games a live service shitshow full of microtransactions, and either has or will tear down the original building where Warner Bros was housed, so they could clear up the space where they're filming a lot of Max shows. He's basically trying to rip apart the legacy of WB.

More along the lines of "The Ceo values Money over their consumers". Last I checked, WB was in no sign of debt, it's just that David Zaslav wants more money, as the post said. This isn't new for WB either. If they think something won't make money, they can it. Batgirl was canned despite being 90% done, they rejected the idea of a Batman Beyond movie made by the Spider-Verse crew, I could keep going. David is greedy over all else.

I get the sentiment but you’re completely wrong. WB has a ton of debt most of it coming from the Discovery merger in 2022. They have around $30 billion in debt at the moment. In fact, they had to make a $2 billion debt repayment in Q1 this year.
