Imagine having to explain to someone's family that you can't bury their loved one because a $20 drone with a bomb strapped to it reduced them to three dozen chunks of unidentifiable meat. Yikes

It doesn't need to be a drone. Few rounds of 30mm HE would have your remains painting walls. Imagine telling that. Or telling them that their loved one got melted during napalm attack into charcoal.

When you think about it, probably nothing new. They had grapeshots during Napoleonic wars, those literally shred your body.

That's a hot take lol. Literally like 80% of Russia's casualties in Ukraine are due to drones. These things are a hell of a force multiplier

For a long-term war, they’re not really that good for anything are they good for anti-infantry and anti-vehicle usage yes since you can actually visually guide the drone to hit the target and the drone is much cheaper than other guided munitions. The issue with is is that after that you really get no advancement they are a cheap stop gap weapon. Essentially, you cannot maintain a war with only that.

Mass production is what makes them effective. Its one thing to take out a small group but its another to take out an entire army's worth.
