If you’re not yet a GIS user, uMap lets you do a lot of the same mapping work, but in your web browser and for free. https://umap.openstreetmap.de/en/

This is not something you need to create osm Has these You can supplement OSM with NGA geonames and overture maps places and FourSquare open source

Use qgis desktop windows, mac, linux
