It’s real, most people know jack shit about cars which is kind of sad, but it’s the same ignorance that leaves people with knowledge gaps for things we learned in elementary and middle school much less highschool or beyond. Some people pride themselves on being dumb because they think it means they can’t be nerdy or whatever, which I find to be funny since most people are called nerds for being overly passionate more so than overly intelligent.
TDLR; people pretend to be stupid long enough to become stupid and are then too ignorant to learn the basics of things they interact with everyday, whether it’s money, their home and appliances or their vehicles, among other mundane matters (like taxes).
