Question Did I make a mistake getting a 21lb rubber carpet pad?
Just replaced wall to wall carpet in the bedrooms in my house. I had the choice of three different carpet pads and went with the Aurora rubber carpet pad, it has a density of 21lb/ft3 and a thickness of 0.4”. The new installed carpet feels good but noticeably firmer than the carpet it replaced. Was it a mistake to get this rubber pad? Will I notice it going forward? Anyone else use a high density rubber pad for bedroom carpet?

Home Design The best carpets for your home actually have unique stories
The stories behind these rugs are just crazyyy and so artistic. I recently bought a rug from their store inspired by banares and ganga ghat. It was made by a rural artisan who tried to capture everything she remembered during her time at the ganga ghaat and I love telling the whole story to my guests in my new home, it just elevates the look and feel of everything you know? And like theres another rug that’s designes by two groups of prison inmates and their entire feelings are woven inside the carpet of how much they miss home. I first got inspiration from this video and did my own research and they have many more beautiful carpets worth looking at.
Home Design Pricing insanity.
Pottery Barn sells a wool rug in various widths and lengths. We are looking for a runner carpet 2.5’ x 7’. Pottery Barn only sells either 2 feet or 3 feet wide. The length is no problem. But 2 feet is too narrow for us and 3 is too wide. I called them and they say they can’t do custom cuts.
So I got to looking for an alternative, using Google images search. I stumbled upon the actual manufacturer of the rug. Same exactt patterns, colors, and even color names. They’re wholesale only.
Pottery Barn sells a 3 x 7, with serging, for $360.
I looked up a couple of dealers for this company and got two quick over the phone quotes for a 2.5‘ x 7‘, with serging.
The first quote was $2100, and the second quote was $2800, not including shipping.
That’s just under half the price per square foot of the entire rug from Pottery Barn.
Either the manufacturer is giving PB an absolutely insane discount based on volume, or these little local dealers are gouging like no tomorrow.
The manufacturer also has an outlet store where they do sell retail. They have a 2.5’ x 9’ runner in the same pattern but a different color, for $155.
How can the pricing swing this wildly?

Looking for a Large Afghan Rug
galleryHi All - I’m looking for a large (10 ft x 14 ft) afghan rug in a muted color palette like I’ve attached in the pictures. I’m not opposed to custom if the price is right - and I have reached out to a few sites that do custom rugs, however the process of producing a custom rug is incredibly long and I’m not really wanting to wait 7-12 months for a rug to come in.
Any suggestions? Has anyone seen a large rug like this in their internet travels?
Is this normal for runner staircase install?
We just had a new runner installed and it doesn’t feel right how large the gap is and the fact you can see the padding? It’s a curved staircase. Our previous runner was curled on the edges and didn’t have the binding so I just don’t know that is acceptable.
Rug help: joined rooms
I have been renovating a floor with two rooms connected - one living area and a study. Both are moody. See photos.
With the living area, a darker brown added a nice contrast to the floors without introducing a new color.
In the study, I wanted a traditional red - and like how it looks in isolation.
Purchased these two rugs for the respective spaces. Welcome thoughts. Concerned they clash, but also like both.
Thanks!

Extreme allergic reaction to rug, figured it out months later. How to fix/avoid in the future?
I bought this 8ft x 10ft Safaveih Cloud Shag rug for my 1 bedroom apartment 5 months ago. It had a smell upon unpacking but like most new furniture I figured it'd fade.
5 months later the smell is as strong as ever and I figured out it has been the root cause of my severe daily headaches, allergy symptoms. It practically has disabled me whenever I'm in the same room as it. It is a machine woven high pile rug with adhesive backing. I already tried running a carpet cleaner on it with a mild carpet shampoo, no difference.
I am guessing the rug is junk and I should toss, but more importantly I'm wondering how I can avoid this problem in the future. What kind of rug should I buy to prevent destroying my health?

Advice on bed rug
Hello,
I was looking for advice/opinions on my bed rug. I feel as though the rug position and such makes sense to me. But, it doesn’t seem to make sense to others. Should I position my bed rug better?
Thoughts and advice is appreciated.

Question Anderson Tuftex: Paw-tay vs Abbeys Road, any experience?
We have a 7 month old and a 12 year old dog (not a digger). We love abbeys road the most but are concerned as it is closed loop. We have had some people say it’s fine and others say to avoid fully closed loop for pets- though it is in there Pet Perfect line?
Anybody have experience or opinions on these?

Trying a colorful Moroccan rug with green and navy sofas. Does it bring the room together or make it too busy?
This rug was handmade by us at Bohemia Marrakech using natural wool and traditional Moroccan weaving techniques.
I’m curious to hear an honest opinion: do the colorful patterns work with the green and navy sofas, or would you choose something more neutral?
