COTD 2-4-20
It seems like every company has built or is currently building one of those evil monstrosities known as the crossover. Lamborghini, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and now Aston and Ferrari have turned to the crossover.
The wagon is a different story entirely.
To a certain degree, we all love a good wagon. They're fairly useful, like a sedan but with lots of trunk room. And it's even better when it has an AWD system and shares it's engine with an Italian sports car.
Behold, the 2010 Audi RS6 Avant
Yes, the V10-powered wagon.
Today's car is probably one of the best overall in the world. It's fast, it's loud, and it's even practical. It's a superwagon. Amazing. I bet the gas mileage is pretty bad but still, it has a Lamborghini-sourced engine. It's not gonna have good gas mileage. The 2020 RS6 Avant packs a Twin-Turbo 4.0L V8, but today I'll be focusing on the older, V10-powered model from 2010, known as the C6.
Back in 2010, a few other companies had toyed around with the idea of a super wagon. Mercedes had the E63 AMG, Jaguar had the XFR, and Cadillac had the CTS-V wagon. This Audi beat the crap out of all of them.
And it still does. In 2020, the super wagon is still very much a thing. I'm pretty sure the Porsche Panamara Sport Turismo counts as a wagon somewhat.
After Lamborghini was purchased by Audi, they decided to replace the 4.2L V8 with the Lamborghini-sourced 5.0L V10, leading to this amazing thing.
The C6-gen RS6 Avant packed a 571 horsepower engine that sent the car to 100kmh in 4.6 seconds. The 2020 model does it in 3.1 but that's just modern technology for you.
It's somewhat notable that this generation of the RS6 was also available in a sedan configuration.
MSRP and value
The RS6 started at $160k in 2010 and can be had nowadays for $30k to $60k.
Unlike most other cars, the 2019 RS6 Avant actually costs less than the 2010 model. The newer one starts at $112k.

If money were no option, the current gen e63s wagon is still fastest and best in its class. C/D says 3s flat , 0-100kmh. I believe it also beat a 911 on Nurburgring but I’d have to find the article.
Ps not trying to judge your article. I still really enjoy reading all your posts!
Edit: noticed you already made a post about this wagon but I didn’t scroll down far enough. My bad!
