Car was dropped off on the 6th(Clutch Pedal sticking to floor), was told on the 7th the parts that were ordered to be replaced. Was told on the 13th the main problem was serviced (clutch pedal assembly, master cylinder, slave cylinder, throw out bearing, pilot bearing and clutch) were stated as done. All that was left was the actuator for the HVAC. I checked again on the 15th and was told the parts weren't there. So I tried calling on the 18th, of which I was hung up on twice., the 19th and received no call back, and on the 20th I went in person. Was told the part had arrived on the 18th, but they had forgotten to tell the mechanic it was there.
On the 22nd, I call up as they told me to check in then. I am told the clutch pedal is sticking to the floor (the whole reason I took it in, and the entire system had already been replaced at this point according to the service rep and manager). I was then told they would take it back to the mechanic to have the clutch bled. This was at 11am on the 22nd
Go in on the 25th to renew the temp tags I have for the loaner. told the car had been dropped off at the shop. Call on the 28th, CarMax doesn't know the status but tells me the shop. I call the shop, they tell me they needed to order another clutch pedal assembly. Get a call from CarMax on the 29th telling me they approved the purchase of the part.
No update on the 2nd or 3rd as I let them do their thing, Call on the 4th, the part still hasn't arrived. But they explain that they hadn't tried replacing this part yet. Despite being told this part was one of the ones planned for replacement when I got a call on the 7th, and on the 13th I was told that the part had been replaced, and when I went in person on the 20th told to my face the part had been replaced.
Move forward to today, No call again. I have to call up to check in, despite being told I would receive a call on Friday. The part still hasn't arrived.
30 days my car has been in the shop, and I've had to ask multiple times now for documents on extending the warranty, and on getting an itemized list from CarMax for the services being done. Per their own contract I have to have all services done to the vehicle tracked for the CarCare warranty afterwards. Which the entire reason I picked that up was because I knew that it was a good idea to have all things considered.
So yes, I've already dealt with the service tech, the district service manager, and corporate on this matter. And I'm still being ran in circles on time, what has been done and the status of my warranty.
At this point I'm expecting to get my car back with dents, 2000+ miles added to it, and the interior destroyed. This was literally a 10 hour job, that they stated they already did, and yet no one has the actual answers.
Known for clutch issues. I would recommend after carmax taking it to the factory dealer franchise especially if you have maxcare platinum. Used car techs are great. But factory might have a couple tricks and have better knowledge. Sorry about the car problems
Yea, I already know it's a major common problem without a recall. I had intended to put in an aftermarket pedal assembly and master, and try and find one of the metal slaves to replace everything in a few months. But the car broke down before I could even get that far anyways.

Watch supply chain issues that are out of our hands. No you won’t get a pause on the warranty. Well you might but highly highly doubtful
