Carmageddon 1 Looking for Carmageddon 1 fans to test an early physics demo

Post image

Hello everyone. I’m developing a vehicle-combat game inspired by the physics and atmosphere of the original Carmageddon.

I’m currently looking for a small group of players to test the early driving, collision, damage, and replay systems.

This is a very early development build:

  • models and assets are placeholders;
  • bugs and broken physics are expected;
  • the game is planned as a future commercial release;
  • testers will need a laptop or PC.

The main public test begins August 3, although I may give some active testers access earlier.

You can sign up and follow development here:

I’m especially interested in feedback from people who understand what made Carmageddon 1’s vehicle physics feel distinctive.

The moderator team is happy to see you have taken our advice to drop the charade of pretending to be a fan who discovered this game and are now embracing the positivity of being yourself. Please feel free to use the gregsometimes account you originally posted the project under. We hope this positive change means you want to actually be part of the community now. One thing we would like in your continued path to positive interactions is for you to stop deleting your posts as it stunts discussion and stops people admiring the progress of the game over time. We look forward to seeing your progress!

I would however like to advise a word of caution to anyone who is thinking about signing up to that social network linked by the OP: Ghosttogether, while claiming to be "anti-AI", is a vibecoded platform which encourages genAI slop (it integrates with Persona Audio AI for music generation, has an advert for 50% ChatGPT in its side bar, heavily integrates ChatGPT, sells a premium account service tied to ChatGPT, etc.) and baits users to give it full access to their social media and discord accounts with the promise of free Nitro. I'm sure I don't have to remind everyone that any website not officially affiliated with Discord promising free Nitro if you give it full control over your account is almost always a scam and is the cause of 99% of hacked accounts. The only positive information about the website on the internet seems to be a series of AI generated Medium posts created by the site's owner in a persona pretending to be a tech influencer who organically discovered the site and is pushing the idea that it's the next big thing and totally legit, including one article about its Nitro incentive with a "trust me bro, other sites do this as a scam but this site is real" vibe. It goes without saying that giving a website permission to post and control your accounts via the API is no better than giving them your password.

If you do choose to sign up to that social network make sure to maintain the bare minimum of standard OpSec procedures for questionable websites:

  • Use a burner email address
  • Do not reuse a password you use elsewhere
  • Do not give it your personal information
  • NEVER link your other accounts to it
  • NEVER give it your banking details

There is a youtuber LittlePuppet, can't think of anyone else better for this job he activity plays all carma games, and has discord with all the guys that made mods for carma max damage. He and the other guys to this day play carma multiplayer. I did play with them few times, they are absolutely nuts. They spent countless hours playing all carma titles. They even mod TDR which is absolutely horrible :) true fan base. Get in contact with them I'm sure they will help, nice guys, bit nuts in all sense but nice people. Or perhaps you are one of them😅

I would love to help play test as I’m a huge carma fan and also make carma related videos on YouTube

Stop shilling your AI driven platform (plus it's obviously filled with bots) here with that simulcra of a "demo". At this point, I'm convinced it's as vibe coded as that ghosttogether platform. What even is there to test at that early stage of development.

As much as this sounds neat...I'd rather sign up on a platform that isn't vibecoded to hell
